Fishy or Legit?
I had a buyer contact me for a job posting cars online for him at a reputable site. I sent a proposal and he messaged back asking me to email him so I did. I am very new to this site so I don't know if his request is normal or not.
ME: Thomas-
You asked me to contact you on here regarding your posting.
HIM: Hi,
I want my cars listed on cars.com . if you accept the job, I can pay $40 per car listed. payments will be sent once a week Fridays only through upwork. you will need to create an email address and a cars.com account with this name -SOME GIRLS NAME THAT DOES NOT MATCH HIS- (the name from the title of the car). You will list a first car on cars.com . please confirm you are from USA and you have a USA phone number. as soon as you create the email address and cars.com account, reply with the details and password and I will send you all details. Thanks!
Me: I'm not comfortable creating an account under a different name. If you would set it up and give me the login information I would be okay with that.
HIM:it's not my job, thats why I am hiring
I have not responded yet because I'm not sure how legit/legal this is. I have never been requested something like this before. Can someone please help me understand. Is this normal here? Fishy?
Thanks!
Kelly
