Boilerplate work-for-hire contract
PPH strongly needs to make available (and possibly require) a boilerplate work-for-hire contract, which both buyer and seller can amend to the specifics of the job, then both parties sign (as with the NDA) prior to commencing work.
Terms should include:
1) Who owns the copyright to the final artwork
2) Who own the publication rights to the final artwork
3) Who owns the original (hard copy) artwork
4) What credits are to be made in the final work
5) Reversion of rights clause
...and so on.
This is to protect both parties. Without a specific contract, disputes could arise as to the rights to the work in different media.
