Free period expired
Thanks very much for letting me know that my free 3-month period is up. Hardly my fault that I haven't been given any work. I have quoted on over a dozen jobs – and rejected invitations on many, many, more.
Most of those I have rejected have been because of the wrong skill set – something your 'keyword' way of selecting people doesn't take into account. Printed books are quite different to eBooks, which brings me to another point.
Many of the client offering work have little or no idea what they actually want, "I need a brochure' doesn't tell any of the freelancers on PPH very much. How can anyone quote with that level of information? Many sellers simply don't respond to questions put on the clarification board.
Another point is the, quite often, very low budget that many sellers set. In one instance I recall, another freelance noted that the price per page for a job that involved 12 monthly 48 page A3 magazines, worked out a £1 per page, and rightly pointed out that this was very unprofessional.
Perhaps PPH should address some of these issues, and I might consider coming back. After the frustrating experience of the last three months – no way!
Thanks
