Incorrect Service Fees
I have been a registered seller and buyer before 13 May 2015.
Your website terms and conditions state:
“For Sellers registered until May 13, 2015 PPH charges a Service Fee of a 3.5% (excl. VAT) on all work billed (earnings), above the first £175 | €240 | $265 earned in the month which has a 15% (excl. VAT) Service Fee”
[…]
The minimum Service Fee per invoice is £2.5 | €3 | $3.5 (excl. VAT)"
Yet I have been charged nearly 25% for work done this month. I billed £225.00 and you deducted £54.00. I also billed $100 and again, you deducted $24.00, each equating 25% - not 3.5% plus VAT as per your terms. This is the only work I did in November 2017. Aside from this, the last job I did was in May 2017.
Based on your terms, the service fee 3.5% plus VAT at 20% only applies above the first £175.00 or $265 earned in the month. Thus, for the £225.00 job your fee should have been:
£225.00 - £175.00, = £50.00
3.5% on £50.00 = £1.75 plus VAT @20%, total deduction £2.10. As this is less than the minimum service fee, therefore £2.50. You deducted £54.00, which equates to 25% of £225.00.
The same applies to the $100.00 job where you deducted $24.00
The above suggests to me that I am owed money by People Per Hour Limited.

Hi Jonathan,
This is taken from our T&Cs also:
- Starting on May 1st, 2017, if a Seller's billing within a calendar month is less than £50 | €60 | $65, then starting from the next month onwards, the Seller will be charged the Service Fee of a 5% (excl. VAT) on all work billed (earnings), above the first £500 | €600 | $650 earned in the month which has a 20% (excl. VAT) Service Fee, independent of the Seller's date of registration.
Could this be the reason for your higher than normal service fee? Have you missed a month's invoicing? Or worked less in one month?
If you believe it is still incorrect then please feel free to open a ticket using the contact us button within your profile.
