Allow sellers to vet buyers again
Before stricter measures were imposed to stop the deluge of freelancers directly contacting clients asking for work, we used to be able to browse a clients previous jobs, and read any feedback other freelancers had left.
Today I was invited to pitch for a job, that included needing to meet up with a client. I had no way of properly vetting him. I cannot click on his selling profile. I cannot see anything about him. And clients can use alternate names, or company names - all of which may be made up.
I usually work remotely. But sometimes clients want to meet up. Obviously in such cases I take good precautions, but my safety is paramount, and being able to vet clients is part of keeping me safe online, and off. It's the first step.
I think introducing some sort of way to verify client names would be a good step. And allowing us to see their full activity (or lack thereof), would improve trust greatly.
