Globalization. With this site, you can work with well-paying clients, even if you're from a country where the pay is small.

For example, $50 for someone from USA might be cheap for the services you're offering, but the same $50 might bring food on the table for a month, for someone from Africa or India (at least some parts of it).

But it is. You asked why they took such a big fee, and said that a traditional agency would be a better choice in the case you gave, and I gave you another case, in which this platform was a better choice than the conventional/tradicional agency.

I'm not saying this platform is much better, I'm just saying there are SOME cases in which it's better, and some in which it's worse. It's up to you if and how you make use of each platform's strengths and weaknesses.

And whether or not you use this platform is entirely up to you. There are other platforms for freelancing, if you feel those meet your needs better.

I am talking about the mark up this platform charges, which is quite considerable, it would be irrelevant whether the traditional agency was in India or elsewhere - still, a good agency checks through the translation and provides a professional service to the client - PPH just take the fee and does nothing for it, oh, apart from the short payment term.

20% to 25% seller fee plus 10% buyer service fee, I don't know which one to add to the bill...

I am assuming you have your own rates and fees, and know what hourly, daily or monthly income you are aiming to achieve with that. You have to calculate with what will arrive in your bank account, and set your fees accordingly.

And in billing for tax and other legal issues, use the money you receive from the site, sending an invoice to the website for the services provided (most freelancing websites with a positive reputation have a physical (on Earth) address or more for people to mail the invoices to).

Note that this might not be the case in the country you're activating in, since the rules may differ from country to country.
