How to quote continuing jobs

I am starting a job that will potentially continue for several months. How do I quote in the proposal description for this?

  Hi Krystal

  If you wish to do that I recommend proposing for one month at your normal rate/fixed rate and within the proposal itself stating that you will work for 'x' per month if the job continued on an ongoing basis after that. You can adapt this in the workstream later and invoice accordingly. It doesn't have to show in your proposal itemised billing.
