It's a known scam but unfortunately, People Per Hour seem unable or unwilling to block them. We all get these invites and you should ignore it. It takes the form of asking you to pay to register to work for them, while promising very high rates of pay in the future.

Even if it wasn't a scam, it is completely against the terms and conditions for PPH, because they are just using the platform to recruit privately, which can get a ban for both parties.

Read PPH terms and conditions.  Never take work outside of the platform. There's no security for you.

    To Community,

You clearly don't take this seriously because it happens continuously. You can cancel an account but when you allow anybody to set up a buyer account, without any verification, they just come back under another name. Clean up the site, get rid of the crap, the scammers, the time wasters and the people who want something for nothing, and the students who want someone to do their homework, and maybe we might start seeing some proper work coming through here again.

Community - where are the moderators reading through projects before they are posted?  The word 'telegram' should be setting off alarm bells.  You have a duty of care to your clients (us) too.  We should be able to trust that jobs posted are legitimate.  Unfortunately, some freelancers think because you've allowed these projects onto the boards, then they're fine.  You cover yourself with the breaching of T&C line, but you really should take this issue far more seriously.

This PPH page is a mess, full of scammers, do something, some kind of filter. It makes me laugh when people defend PPH by saying they can't do anything. React!!!!. It cannot be that 80% of this page belongs to scammers and that they can delete your profile just like that

They are trying to do this but saying to put a filter, filter what? Keywords?

Scams are getting more sophisticated as they are not mentioning details till someone responds to what could seem a usual project enquiry or as it shows on the notice board silly requests which they still say 'i'll do it'. I am not defending PPH but there has to be personal responsibility that if you take conversations off the platform then that is your issue if it then turns out to be a scam. People complain when this happens and I am certain people won't come back and provide the commission if the job was paid.

Also putting the same messages on countless threads is pointless however, I am not sure if you have been scammed but be careful of all the usual redflags. It happens on all freelancer sites.

do you know what happens? You have to pay this page if you do not achieve x number of projects in the trial period. Something is expected in return for payment. Of the freelance pages I have used, the number of scammers on this one is HUGE

I would like to see PPH verify buyers' accounts. I need that for tax purposes because I'm legally required to know where my clients are based, and I don't trust the country description that PPH give, because they don't verify it. If they did verify the buyer's identity, that would seriously reduce the scams because they wouldn't be able to come back using a new account and another made up name.

People need to also take some responsibility. Scammers only operate if they are making money out of it. and these scams are easy to see through. The number of people I see on this forum complaining that they have worked for 3 days on a $3000 project, without a deposit or a written contract, or any idea who it was they were actually working for, is really frightening and frustrating. If you can't handle people being dishonest for their own financial gain, you really shouldn't be trying to be a freelancer and you probably shouldn't go outside or even answer the telephone. You will get cut to pieces wherever you go.

Both things are wrong, I agree that the workers also have their responsibility. What I want to highlight the most is the incredible number of scammers out there since it is not a free page. And it seems that for years, it goes on and on like this. I will not recommend this page to anyone around me.

I have received many scam proposals. All of them request to contact them via telegram. The first one I received, I almost clicked on the link. But then I realized that it was not logical to deal outside of the site. This makes me think that it is not a serious website and has no security controls.
I need to know how to delete the account of this site.

I don't see any option to delete it.

I am waiting for an answer.

I got a job but as usual, the buyer asked me to chat out of peopleperhour. He hired me and appeared on my workstream. What should I do??

When you say 'you got a job,' was it actually awarded to you properly, ie, money deposited in Escrow, and you got an email from PPH to say Congratulations!

If not, you haven't got a job.

Has he deposited money in Escrow and awarded you the job?  PPH will email you to say Congratulations.  You really need to read the terms and conditions before being let loose on these platforms, you know.

Look on your workstream.  Do read the terms and conditions though.  You'll find all the answers as to how the site works
