A scam using the company name NeuExcell Therapeutics
I was scammed by a person named Jane who posted the customer service job in PeoplePerHour. She sent me a message telling me that my resume was reviewed and I was invited to an interview with Mr. Tombros. This is an actual person on the company website so I fell for it. She provided a link to a Team's page and I followed her instructions and sent a message that I was told to reach out to him for an interview. It was after 9pm. He responded within minutes and proceeded to conduct an interview telling me that it would be solely through chat and not a video interview. He shared company information about its mission etc. I should have known something was wrong because no company rep would conduct an interview after business hours. But I went along with it. He gave me a series of interview questions to answer and then (an hour into this interview), he told me to wait a few minutes while he sends our conversation to their human resources department. This was another red flag because no HR is open at this hour. Nowhere in the world. Then he came back and offered me a position (CSR) and told me that my hours would be paid $30/hr and $25/hr for training. He listed typical company benefits as well. Then he asked for my home address, phone number, and email address. I thought that was strange. Then I went to the company website and saw that they are not hiring and there is also a warning about a scam on their website involving their company name. Before ending this fake interview, I confronted the person (he had used the exact picture from the company website for Mr. Tombros as his profile pic). I told him that he is a scammer and I regret letting him waste my time and then I sent him the same screenshots that I attached here. This was a time that I could have spent with my family or just relaxing. I hate PeoplePerHour for creating a cesspool of toxic scammers and enabling them to get away with what they are doing. After seeing other people's complaints, I am never going to trust PeoplePerHour again. I will do what I can to help others avoid signing up with PeoplePerHour so they do not get hurt as I did. If an interviewer offers to pay you by circumventing PeoplePerHour, that is a sign of a scammer. After being reprimanded by me, he maintained that this is a legitimate job offer. I also noticed a few problems with the person' English... language mistakes are a dead giveaway.

PPH do tell you to read their terms and conditions and NEVER communicate or accept jobs outside of the platform. True, I do think they could do more to stop rogue postings, but to blame the site is a little unfair when you've deliberately breached their terms and conditions.
Remember the term 'buyer beware.' It was termed for a reason! Everyone needs to be savvy.

I never breached their terms and conditions. In fact, when the fake interviewer offered to pay me outside of the PHP system, I told him that I prefer to be paid through PHP because I did not want to circumvent their system. I told him that is unethical. That is when he became apprehensive. It was yet another clue that it was a scam. However, the link that the fake person provided me for the "Teams" platform (to conduct a job interview) was given to me inside of the PHP platform. This was obviously permitted by PHP. Otherwise, they would not have allowed that link to be posted and shared with me. PHP bears some accountability even if it is only a small amount. Similarly, even if Uber claims to have background checked their drivers, it still looks bad on Uber if a female passenger ends up getting raped by the Uber driver (which has actually happened at different times and in multiple cities). It is just a bad look, period. PHP clearly does a piss-poor job of cleaning its so-called list of hiring companies. Anyone can sign up and pose as any company in the world and start soliciting honest job searchers only to scam them. PHP wants to hold their hands up and say their hands are totally clean with no accountability whatsoever. If that is ok with you, that is fine.. stick around to get scammed, or keep advocating for this company for whatever incentives they are giving you to do so.
