Automatic negative feedback for giving a refund has got to stop!!
AnsweredI don’t believe this! PPH strikes again!
I refund money for part of an Hourlie because the buyer no longer needs the work done and I get punished with a one star feedback from not the buyer, but YOU! I even explained this as the reason, but it makes no difference. You clearly do not check the reason, or look at the workstreams between the buyer and myself, or ask the buyer first – an automatic bot has just left the feedback within a few minutes of the refund being done.
I am in the process of writing a proposal for a very large and prosperous job that I stand an excellent chance of winning, but now there’s no point. As soon as the buyer looks at my feedback, she’ll see 1 star and the words ‘Job non delivered by the Seller’ right at the top. Well thank you very much! You’ve just cost me an on-going job worth £1000s (and YOU lose the commission), not to mention any one else looking at my profile for that or my other Hourlies.
I have done nothing wrong, this is a ridiculous system – it’s up to the buyer to leave feedback if a job has not been delivered not you, but in this case I DID DELIVER THE JOB – it was my decision to refund most of the money as the buyer did not need me to do much work after all. Please read the other workstream with the buyer, started before he bought the Hourlie.
The issue with the refund only came about as buying an Hourlie was the only way the buyer could use my services, as I can’t just raise any invoice or write a proposal, as there is no job, just an enquiry. Your system is seriously flawed. And then I get penalised for it!
How can PPH leave negative feedback any time someone gives a refund – it’s ludicrous!
PLEASE REMOVE THAT AUTOMATIC FEEDBACK ASAP.
Saying I have done this for everyone to see when it is not true is libellous, as you have publicly damaged my reputation – you need to address this urgently.

I would like to see a Refund option for purchased in error.
Someone purchased 2 hourlies by mistake - of course I refunded one and got the auto 1 star feedback which I had to ask customer services to remove.
I have the same part payment for an hourlie currently where I have completed the first brief and been paid but the rest of the brief is not forthcoming despite repeated requests.
The job is parked until action by the client.
At some stage PPH will auto refund and I will get one star.

I have raised it Customer Support and the feedback was immediately removed (not before damaging my reputation for several hours and causing me a lot of stress), proving it shouldn't have been added in the first place.
I want to raise as much awareness as possible to this ridiculous, vindictive system you have whenever a seller refunds any money to a buyer, in the hope that you will remove it.
Note my question towards the bottom of my text. So this is the correct place.

As a Buyer, I agree that there should be a better way of cancelling a job that is no longer needed. I accepted a proposal but it turned out that due to technical difficulties in providing access to the relevant systems, the Seller was unable to complete the work (neither Buyer or Seller at fault). There seems no good option for just cancelling a job that is no longer valid.

It happened to me as a funniest way. One of my clients was very happy with my work. She wanted to pay me 50 pound extra but mistakenly she sent me 350 pound. So I had to give her back her money. So as I did refund, oh GOD! I got automatic bad feedback. What kind of algorithm is it? Please remove the system asap.
Thanks
