Don't make people create a PPH account just to endorse you
Despite the fact that it would count towards my CERT, I won't send out the link for people to endorse me on PPH, as they have to create an account in order to submit their endorsement. Why should my friends, family, colleagues, etc. have to sign up to a website that they will NEVER use, in order to endorse my skills?
I think it would be much better to give them an option to either sign in to their account if they have one, or if not, to just fill out a form with their name, company name (optional), email address and relationship to the person they are endorsing (that way Buyers on PPH can see if all your endorsements are from family, or if they are actually from clients/colleagues).
You could then send a confirmation message to their email address, which they have to click on in order to actually submit the endorsement - that way you know they are using a real email address.
I would feel much more comfortable asking for endorsements this way.
From talking to some friends and colleagues in the web industry, they all said that they would not create an account just to endorse someone, but if all they had to do was fill in a short form (which doesn't subscribe them to any newsletters/PPH emails) & click a confirmation link, then they would be happy to do it.
What do other people think about this? Do you have issues getting endorsed as people don't want to create an account on PPH?
(Disclaimer: I DO send the link to clients that I've actually worked with on PPH, as I know they already have an account and are likely to endorse me; this message refers to asking people outside of PPH)

Given that I could easily create myself fifty endorsements (I haven't), it's unlikely that everyone is going to truthfully fill in such a form, so it's value is useless, as is the system itself.
Getting an endorsement from an existing client is tantamount to giving them the business cards of all your rivals on PPH.
How can endorsements from friends and family be valid in a professional capacity? Friends and family are hardly unbiased.

I am also very confused regarding this Endorsements. In my opinion feedback and endorsements should be left by clients after completing a project. I confront this days with few endorsements left by PPH freelancers which I do not know, I never worked or spoke with them, they left me endorsement and I suppose they expect I should endorse them, too. But how can I recommend someone without knowing his/her professional level? One of the freelancer who endorsed me has no winning job on PPH, he has lot of endorsements and he is on Level 3, unfair I would say when he has no winning job. I do not say that it is wrong for friends or PPH freelancers to give endorsements, it's just I do not think they reflect someone's professional level if they are left by friends or other freelancers.

Copy-paste of my message from similar topic:
Yes, that's actually becomes into a problem.
More and more people endorsed me. And I even don't know who they are.
Not so long ago a person from Bangladesh endorsed me and I've decided to check his profile.
And do you know what? He have 0 (zero) awarded job, 0 (zero) rating/feedback but his CERT level is 4!
And he have a 270 endorsement at same time.
So now current system of endorsements totally compromised and using as a cheat to create rating from air.
