Is my intellectual property secure?

I have a book in MS Word format that requires proper formatting and pagination. If I hire a freelancer to fix it, can I be assured that my intellectual property is secure?

  I suggest that you provide the freelancer with a legal document to secure your IP, like an NDA agreement for instance.
