Test job as part of the interview

Hi,

A buyer invited me to send a proposal to their job post. Afterwards, they asked for a "test article" as part of the interview, and provided a title. Is this in order? Should I agree to write this "test article?" There doesn't appear to be compensation for this, as they haven't accepted my proposal yet.

  It is against our terms and conditions for users to work for free on PPH.

  no don't do it , you have a portfolio you can share your work samples, this is an old trick and I've seen worst , buyers asking to sign NDA this and that just to make it look serious , they take free work and runaway.

  why not a paid test ?
