Warning before changes to PPH are carried out
I have been through a few of these forum topics lately and there are a lot of complaints that things keep changing on PPH, with regards to layout, features, algorithms, etc. and it's confusing.
We understand that PPH is a forever evolving platform and you are consistently looking for ways to improve it. However, I get the feeling from everyone that we would like a heads up when things are about to change.
So, for example, the whole message system layout has changed and things are very different now. One day I just signed in and it was all changed, with no warning. If we could get a blog post with a couple of days notice, at least that would be helpful!
Same with all the other changes - it would be good if we could prepare for them! Also, if you plan a change in the future, by creating a blog post, you will get feedback for that change too, which will be very valuable. You might be conducting a change which the users will simply not like. Therefore, you will save more time if you just release a feeler as a blog post.
Just an idea.

Hi Sabrina,
Many thanks for your suggestion. I will pass it on to our product team. Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.Comment actions -
Yeah - they have also banned clicking on buyer profiles, changed the way jobs are posted, removed the trending hourlies and replaced it by a job board, changed algorithms, changed search functions etc etc
Some changes have been good, some have been bad.
However, we would still like a heads up!

If we aren't allowed to view buyer profiles, how can we judge whether or not they will be reliable to work for? Buyers can view seller profiles for just that purpose, as well as to see portfolios etc. It's imperative that we are able to see other seller feedback on a buyer. Please consider reinstating this.

Well that revamp certainly came as something of a shock. And I'm not sure it was necessary. Interesting fact that there's another site where I'm a member (not a rival, more of resource finder than hiring,) where the head programmer actually goes online and chats to members in the "site improvements" forum. You'd be amazed how refreshing that concept is. What's more he asks first, listens second, acts third, and asks for feedback fourth.
And that is why that is a well run site, and why this site has this forum thread.
Peopleperhour management please take note ...(well I can dream, can't I?)

The new look is ok I suppose, but I wish PPH would devote their time and our money to fixing things that need fixing, not stuff that ain't broke.
- We desperately need a sellers forum;
- we need to be able to see the profiles of buyers before we commit credits to proposing for them;
- the invitation system needs sorting out as a lot of sellers aren't getting invites anymore;
- either we need more free credits or the price to buy them needs to be a LOT lower than over £1 each as they are now. That will hopefully stop people using the Clarification Boards as pitching places.
PPH, this is a two-way street. Yes, you provide a platform for us to find work, but if none of the sellers were here paying you commission, you wouldn't be either. There are other places for us to get work. Please start listening to us and we can work together to benefit each other.

In all fairness, I think they have listened about being able to check out the buyer's profile before bidding. I can now check them out, after this revamp. Not sure about the new layout though - I agree with Ann... why change it? There was nothing wrong with the other one!
I do like that the job invitations thing is right there... but what is all that space on the RHS for? Does anyone have anything in that space? Also, the % profile view? What is that percentage out of? Compared to the all the other profiles? Just a bit confused!

Sabrina, I just checked and I still can't access a buyer's profile from the proposal page (which is where you need to be able to access it), only after I've sent a proposal and started a workstream for the job. The other option is to go and search for the name of the buyer and get to their profile and feedback that way. We shouldn't have to do that, though, as this is a vital function that we really need.
The space on the right of the dashboard is for current workstreams. That's ok, but the invites section is a bit big IMO and sits there empty if there are no invites. Something that pops up as needed might have been better maybe.

Seems like we all have diff features?
My "Current Workstreams" bit is under my "Job Invitations", all on the LHS, taking up half the page. Absolutely everything is underneath each other here. I have a completely blank area on the RHS. Very odd
I can click the buyer's name now before I bid, but only on the job invites bit. Not on the "Browse jobs" section
