Shady Buyer?

I have a buyer who wants me to do half the work before she will even make a deposit. It is posting ads on Craigslist. It feels a little shady. Should I back out? Can she leave negative feedback on me?

  Hi McKensy,

  Many thanks for your message. You should not commit to any work until your proposal has been accepted. The buyer cannot leave negative feedback unless they have accepted your proposal and an invoice is them submitted and paid.
