if money is already in escrow, you delivered work and it's 100% complete, you can raise invoice, the buyer should either pay it or reject it otherwise, it will be paid automatically within 7-15 days

What Mohammed is saying is not quite true unfortunately, because if they deactivate their account, then this option is not available.

This is a MAJOR flaw in PPH and they are aware of it because this happened with me. One buyer kept trying to deactivate their account to avoid paying.

You need to contact PPH on support@peopleperhour.com ASAP and let them know it's urgent! Give them the URL and also the details of the buyer profile and they will stop the deactivation!

Because otherwise, all money gets sent back to the buyer automatically upon deactivation.

It happened to me a few months ago and i lost out on £800. I was furious and I never even got it back either.

    Another big loophole then?

Yes - major. Someone could come on, deposit £5000 for a job, get the person to do it all, then cancel their account. Really bad. I've just written a post on here about the loophole about the 10% fees - check it out and vote for it so something is done about it

Yes there are a collection of them, account deactivation is same as charge back (account will be desactivated) PPH won't recognize similar things as flaws, a buyer once wanted to take (milestone) work for free, just pretending it is not complete...another one.

Ah thank you all. I didn't ask for a deposit as it was only £15 and my first project so I was a bit naive to trust the buyer. It's just the principle really and I'm so sorry for those who've lost out on large amounts. It's so hard to secure work on pph with other members seemingly working for nothing! Lots of flaws on here I guess, maybe not worth the bother.
