Two of seller's biggest headaches
Hi,
I'm having a moan about two of the most annoying headaches on PPH (I think so anyway) and wondering if the company can or is even willing to do anything about them.
First, the hundreds of 'buyers' who think it's a great idea to offer jobs that they then never award. Ninety-nine percent of these don't even bother to decline our offers, but just leave the job dangling forever. A lot of them post the job and then never log in again.
Of course, much of this is caused by the fact that they don't have anything invested in the post, apart from a few minutes of their time to sign up and write it. No cost, no compulsion to do anything with it. Unlike sellers, who have to use a credit for every proposal, some of which they've probably had to buy.
Come on PPH - you're making a bundle out of us as it is. Help sellers to stay engaged with your company and get over the problem of wasted credits by giving us free, unlimited credits. We bid on more jobs, get more work, we all get more money. I'm sure you'd make more that way than from charging for top-up credits.
It would also stop an annoying little habit that lots of sellers have when they run out of credits - putting pitches on the Clarification Board... which the moderation people always seem to ignore, oddly.
The other issue, for me anyway, is buyers who don't bother to leave feedback. Jobs which have been approved and paid for just sit in our profiles, looking like they've never been completed. A very bad image for the seller in the eyes of potential clients.
I don't know if PPH sends reminder emails to buyers about leaving feedback? If you do and they don't work, can we please have the facility to remove such jobs from our profiles after a set length of time?
Thank you,
Ann

Completely agree with you. It's a little known fact that you can claim your proposal credit back for expired jobs. Just email the support team with your relevant work stream link. One or two of the staff make a big deal about it not being PPH policy to refund the credit but that is bollocks. I always ask for a credit refund and get it on expired jobs.
The PPHers who use the clarification board for self promotion need to be reported directly. DO NOT use the report link on the comment, it is a waste of your time. Instead message support@peopleperhour.com with all of your complaints. If you want your message to go to someone in particular add their name in the subject line.
I wouldn't worry about lazy buyers who don't leave comments, as I've had one or two leave ridiculous 1* feedback on work that was 5* quality. This brings down your percentage overall. I'd rather not have a comment from a lazy arse, as the non comment shows me exactly what type of buyer/person they are. I do however agree that we should have the right to remove whatever comments we want to from our profile page.

That's very interesting Anna. I must have about 20 expired jobs in my list - I'll get onto Support on Monday and see about getting the credits back, as well as the other things I want to ask about. As the credits don't cost them anything anyway, I can't see what the big deal is.
I'm wondering if a closed Facebook group might not be the way to go...
