Scam Report for Data Entry Job at MedPharm
AnsweredI sent a proposal for an Accurate Data Entry person. I was contacted stating I was on the shortlist of applicants. I was given an interview verification code and told to set up an account in Google Hangouts. This is my first proposal and I did not know that this is not acceptable. Anyway, I looked online and confirmed the name and background information of the VP of Human Resources with whom I was supposed to meet via Google Hangouts and the history and focus of the company. I confirmed the meeting date and time.
The person showed up on time, precisely at 10:30 am as agreed. The avatar was the actual picture I saw online of the Sr. VP of Global Hiring. They really wanted to make it look authentic. I took screenshots of the entire conversation.
The interview lasted an hour with a tedious back and forth. At one point, I offered to go on camera but they declined, stating the interview will be conducted via text. After giving me information that could have been copied and pasted directly from the About section of the website and the personal information section of the SVP of Global Hiring, they listed benefits including 401K, Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance for both part-time and full-time workers. Then came the scam: They presented the hours and asked what means of payment I would prefer.
I told them that it is my understanding that all payments would be made through Pay Per Hour as part of the agreement. Their response was that they believe that I have been updated that they signed a contract with PPH including charges for working outside the platform. I told them that I cannot work outside the platform and will be alerting PPH about our conversation.
There was no further communication after that.

I received similar but was requested I use the Wire app to communicate. I proceeded out of curiosity but not intending to work. After redundant questions and information seeming to be copy and pasted, I was told I would be deposited funds to purchase equipment for training - over less than 24 hours. Having previous job scams I stated I would not spend funds immediately without making sure they have cleared, I was told I am incompetent and not ready for the demands of the job. I believe others have been approached the same, with an invitation to apply and being shortlisted. Just want to further the warning for anyone intrigued by the seeming opportunity.

Same happened to me today! The interview and briefing was online on google hangouts. The posts abovet could be 100% from me. I got an offer letter and when I went to their actual website it stated that the offer letter will be sent from a company email address and not a gmail.com email address. Also it said that there will be a recruiting agency. So big red flag for this post.
