20% Service Fees

 I'm not sure when the new service fees came into effect but they are really bad. I'd say 95% of all my work on here is a one off for a client. For instance once I've done a logo for someone they aren't very likely to need another one. With 20% fees it's just not worth me using it. If I raise me costs to cover it then I won't win any work as cleints/customers on here are after the lowest price possible. 

Also the service charges don't work with the "Hourly/offers" as again they are one off solutions. 

This is going to make sellers take customers away from the platform. 

What a terrible idea.

  I totally agree Grahame, but we won’t change their minds I’m afraid.

  It's crazy. Charge sellers 20% on tiny jobs on a platform devoid of respect. Rather then cultivate great sellers doing great work which they can charge more for an PPH gain too.

  And with VAT it’s 24%! So nearly a quarter of your income grabbed! Pure greed.

  Heres what PPH said:

   

  "Unfortunately, the new Service fee scheme cannot be changed and it is based on the Lifetime billings you have with a specific Buyer. The fee scheme is applied to all of our Freelancers accounts and as my colleague explained I comprehend that it is not ideal for all Freelancers' accounts for all types of Projects but I am afraid that the fee scheme cannot be applied differently. 
  
  However, in a long term if this measure proves not to be cost efficient for the majority of Freelancers on the Platform the decision could be re-evaluated by the Team in charge and may be altered. "

   

  I guess if everyone can message them they might review it?

  PPH would only lose .. and make smaller money in long time
