Has anyone actually been paid recently?
AnsweredHas anyone actually received a withdrawal from PPH in the last week or two? It's taking so long to "process" my withdrawal I'm beginning to worry whether the money actually exists or not

@Tom. The withdrawal that was completed went over the 2 working days. I requested it on Thursday and complained about it being late on Monday afternoon once it had passed the 2 days. I did already have a support ticket open. They approved it on Tuesday and it arrived in my bank account on the same day. I didn't know it was there because the reference said it was from WorldPay and I was expecting it to be from People Per Hour. This was only one day later than the ToCs claim, but I did complain about it. I don't know if that made any difference. It was only £48 but I wanted to test that money was still coming through and didn't want to wait for the next payment to catch up.
This payment is from before the clearing period. I'm still waiting for the 14 days to complete on the next one. -
I withdrew my funds on the18th June - still no payment. I rang them just a few minutes ago and was advised it's in a batch to be processed but they were unable to give me any timeframe of when I would be paid. I asked whether PPH had taken their service fee which they confirmed they had. I asked why, then, should PPH take their service fee if the money was still being checked in accordance with their money laundering processes. If PPH can take their service fee then the money MUST be coming from a legitimate source so therefore why can't I get paid. They have no answer to this of course. I have raised a formal complaint and if I don't get paid today I am complaining to Trading Standards about this business activity.

Everyone should be making a complaint to Trading Standards. I made a withdrawal on the 16th and still nothing. I've watched this company nickel and dime people since 2013 and now with the new 2 week processing times, or however many weeks they choose at any given moment, this site has become utterly useless.

Update- received a notification that 3 of my invoices from the 15-16th of June have now put through. I have perhaps one more payment to come from them then I will be done with it, not worth the hassle anymore, I did small jobs on here for extra money, it's not worth waiting 16 days for £15.

Enough is enough… I’m not prepared to wait for over 2 weeks for my own money when I had to work for over a month for it! If I knew this was the case, I would’ve told my client to do this outside of PPH! I’m reporting this to trading standards. This new 14 days waiting game that they started has nothing to do with “security checks”. It’s purely another way for this company to keep hold of people’s money so they can earn more interest on it.

Although PPH lowered its fees, now they make us wait 14 days - EVEN IF the buyer has paid a deposit. This does not sound good for us freelancers. I'm focusing all my efforts on UpJerk. Although they charge a higher fee, the payment is faster. I suspect we should all stop using PPH as our main place for gigs until the holding thing is over. Which may never come as PPH may have such money problems, that they will shut down.

Hi again, You can now add your name to a letter of complaint about new clearing periods - please join us!

New update- even though the clearing period has now 'cleared' I requested a withdrawal yesterday morning and that has not been processed as of this afternoon, so aside from the 14 days you have to wait, there is also additional days to wait for the withdrawal to be processed afterwards. This is really not worth waiting for small payouts anymore, 3 weeks for £35.

Anita there is a massive conversation going on on another thread, and also a chance to express your dissatisfaction here:

This is the conversation that's ongoing

I have had to chase my withdrawals after the 14 days had lapsed and I waited 48 hours after withdrawal to receive them into my bank, nothing had appeared or been processed. After chasing was told there are now no longer issues with time but, could not explain why mine was late and still having to chase. I cannot carry on waiting 14 days and then chase after that. I have also noticed very little work on the site lately I just cannot carry on anymore fighting with this site.

I have encountered the same issue today. A job started in 2020 with staged payments. The final stage has come post the supposed T&C changes so I now have to wait 14 days. I believe this is fraudulent withholding of my money, so I phoned CS to be met with a its in our T&C's line that 'I agreed too' when I raised the invoice. I will be contacting trading standards and closing my account with PPH. This is the second issue in a month, the first being their lack of protection for freelancer from non paying job posters. Joke of a company and I hope they go bust.

@Simon,
I think PPH is in real financial trouble. When they are holding payments to make sure the buyer does not accept then work, then charge it back, you know they are attracting dishonest buyers. Or at least low value clients.
For me, I won't do any further work with PPH until they change their payment policies.
