    It's probably to do with the fact PPH are driving everyone away with their wait 3 weeks for you money thing they've put on, it's made it not worth using the site. Customer service has been shocking any way. The reason you can't just request the money back is probably because they've taken it and used it, there's no real escrow.

    @Bruce There is a support telephone number that doesn't always show up for everybody. +(44) 020-78941515. Whether there is anybody answering it is another matter. Support is fairly awful at the best of times but as Mitch says, there is an issue with freelancers not getting paid at the moment and what little support there is will be completely swamped.

    Awful experience this morning with a Buyer freezing the Workstream after making derogatory comments about the initial work that I had submitted and requesting the return of his deposit. I am not able to add my own response to the Workstream but was provided with a message panel in which to respond. This only allows a few characters to be typed before it reaches a maximum, so I can't give my full account of the situation. No direct Freelancer Support email to contact either. For a site that is offering a platform for communication between Buyer and Seller, their own comms are totally under-resourced.
