It's ridiculous that I can't edit my own Response Time
Why doesn't Response Time mean what it says: the time it takes to respond to a request?
The responsibility for editing my response time should lie with me, not an algorithm that refers not to response time so much as completion. The problem with the latter is that any issues with a buyer that require longer communication after the job is taken on and completed (for example over payment) penalise the freelancer.
I am new to this and have only done one job so far. I responded to the request immediately and my offer was accepted. Unfortunately there were then issues with respect to payment admin, which led to further communication. Now my response time is suddenly 'a few days' even though that's simply not true. Once the freelancer has responded, whether immediately or within 24 hours or whatever, discussion thereafter should be just between the the buyer and the freelancer. If the freelancer is slower than promised, the buyer can say so in her or his review. As it happens, it my case the buyer review specifically said I did the work swiftly.
It's obviously not attractive to a buyer to see that a freelancer will only respond within a few days. Why am I being unfairly penalised?

Hi James, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us about the response time.
The response time is displayed automatically by the system and refers to both workstreams and also how swiftly you respond to job invites.
This will update over time and your response time will also get shorter if you are consistently responding to buyer messages and accepting/ rejecting job invites.
We have escalated your query to the customer support team to look into in more detail. They will provide the next best steps and be in touch with more information regarding this.
Best wishes,
