Someone has completed a job for me. The payment is in escrow. How do I release the payment to them. They have not yet sent an invoice - can I only release payment when they send an invoice?

  Hi Daniel,

  Thanks for getting in touch, you need to ask the freelancer to raise their invoice in order to complete the payment and release the escrow deposit.

  When I raise an invoice for a completed job, do I invoice for the amount minus the deposit or the full amount? I've just completed a job for which the total charge was £270. The client paid the deposit of £135 when they accepted my proposal. I then raised a final invoice today for the outstanding £135 but I have only been paid the £135 deposit that has been released from escrow and there's nothing showing in the escrow account now. Do I now re-invoice the client for another £135 or have they in fact already paid £135 twice to reach the full amount? I'm concerned not only because of the £135 but because the amount is now lower than £250 which means I'd have to pay a higher fee to PPH.
