Not allowed to state I'm available on the phone or Skype to potential clients..
While putting in a proposal, I offered communication via skype or phone to a potential buyer, should they require it.. Didn't put in any of my details.. And I get a red warning saying all comms must be via PPH..
Come on guys.. This is abit OTT, don't you think?
The messenger app on PPH does not deliver messages to my email instantly. takes hours before I get a message.. Not that I mind.. And some clients want to speak to you on the phone. They explicitly ask for that.. Also as someone in the UK, buyers in the UK, are reassured that you are just a phone call away, so its a USP/advantage for us..
The only way we can compete with the guys who offer websites for £30, is to provide a good service.. Don't take that away from us..

PPH is getting less seller friendly all the time.
I agree with the issues stated above.
Please try and meet us half way; we have problems put in the way of communicating, questions often seem to need approval from you before posting on threads, you sit on money and charge a good commission and basically don't trust us to play by the rules.
Please see what can be done to make life a little easier for those of us who sell quality services. -
I haven't used Skype with a PPH client in a while, I prefer everything in writing. However the PPH client I did use Skype for, specifically requested it, it was essential to the work, we completed the work and he paid through PPH.
There has to be an element of trust here. Clients expect us to be able to communicate with them using their preferred methods.
If PPH blocks client choice then we have no choice but to go wherever the clients go.
I know you're all putting in a lot of hard work trying to both increase your revenue stream and keep your revenue stream safe, but you have to consider the downsides of some of your attempts in a global economy. Either let us use Skype or bear the costs of providing similar functionality.

Reply from PPH:
"sureshHello George
Thank you for your message.
I'm very sorry about that and I do understand your concern but it is against our rules to provide contact details to the buyer before your proposal got accepted from the buyer on the workstream.
I can understand that you don't have any intentions to take the Job outside but we want our sellers to follow our rules.
We appreciate your cooperation and hope you will abide by our rules.
Thank you very much.
Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.
Thank you.

Update for those of you who don't know this includes weblinks..
sureshHello George
Thank you for your message.
Contact details means phone numbers, website links, email id, skype etc
I really won't deny and agree with every point you mentioned but we have seen lot of situations which has happened because of we allowing the users to update contact details. And also we cannot do favour where we allow one user and deny the others.
Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.
Thank you.

As a design professional, that includes, no links to your portfolio... Go figure.. You can't speak to them to reassure them, you can't direct them to your body of work, and testimonials, guess the only way to win work is to hit rock bottom prices just like the others in the developing world..
PPH think about this for abit.. You charge us a 20% commission, people who make larger value purchases, will be hesitant to hand over large deposits, to ppl they don't know, or whose work they can't independently verify.. In the end you will lose important larger revenue streams..Something to really ponder..
