Fix Buyer Payment Issues
Twice now, I've had an issue with buyers being unable to pay me. The first time, the buyer ended up completely dropping off contact since she was unable to accept the proposal, and the second one has apparently given up on paying anything besides the deposit (which was 3/4 of the agreed payment). Both of them mentioned having issues with the site accepting their payment, specifically with the part about verifying their identities, though they both mentioned some sort of workaround that allowed them to pay someone else on the site and accept the proposal, respectively.
There are a couple possible things that I think can solve this problem. First, it would be a good idea to require account verification of at least one payment source before allowing buyers to post jobs or contact sellers. This might scare off some buyers, but that's already happening. At least this way, it won't waste the sellers' time or end up leaving them shortchanged.
Second, allow buyers a way to directly deposit money into a workstream. Paypal, for instance, allows people to send money from their accounts. If a feature were set up that gave buyers a direct address for the escrow and allowed them to send the money from their account, that would get past a few security concerns.
I don't know if the second one is possible, or if there's a better way to do it because I'm not IT, but this seems like the sort of thing that needs to be fixed. It is exceptionally frustrating.
