Embarrassing prices suggested to employers

Hi everyone,

So I was playing around with the business calculator PPH makes available to its clients. And here are the results:

Business Concept Research£38

Brand Identity£70

Full Website Design£280

 

Now, I live in Romania, and even in here, where the prices are 10 times smaller than they are in western countries, this would be considered a joke. No wonder I can't get any jobs here, where, similar to Freelancer or Guru, clients expect a freelancer to be happy with $5/hour.

  Further to the KellyBot reply...

  £280 for a website design is embarassing.

  Is that the design or full website build?

  Ddoes it encompass all types of websites from simple holding pages to a fully fledged ecommerce site?

  For UK/EU developers that is simply not going to happen. Too many times UK buyers want a UK developer at often even below sub-continent rates.

  Or as a colleague says... ' its another client that wants the world and doesn’t want to pay!'

  Well, it doesn't really matter if it's just the design or fully built. It's even worse if it's fully built, but it's extremely low for a PSD design too.

  I've seen what most designers do here, and I can understand why their prices are so low. The quality is simply way below mediocre. No wonder they can design a website in less than a day.

  True, buy a themeforest theme, stick it on WordPress with a page builder, click 'load default' and job done... instant site-in-a-day. Even worse than the Karlie Kloss Wix ad...

  Ask them to produce anything remotely bespoke, custom funtionality, or even tweak a theme and you end up with clients moaning about 'unreliable' sellers.

  Can't win really.
