Buyer releasing payment from escrow

Hi,

I am having difficulty getting payment from a buyer for whom I wrote/edited a CV. I have sent the completed work to him numerous times and have issued an invoice/asked him to release the funds. He keeps saying that he paid last week, but I think he is referring to the money held in escrow/ as a deposit, which I can't access. I am struggling to communicate and help him understand what to do next, I hope you'll be able to help.

  Hello,Kelly.

  Few days ago simon gives me lead generation work.

  I did this work and delivery it.There was some mistake.That was $60 work.

  Simon willing to pay $40 because of my mistake.I told him i will resolved this.

  But he told me he Can't.Now he don't accept my new proposal.
