Unresponsive client not paid invoice (1 week now)
Hi,
I have a client for whom I did work before (Class assignment).
He came to me at the last moment, 2.5 hours before the deadline, asking for help to complete the major assignment else he will fail.
I had less time so I asked him $X, regardless of completion of work, to which he agreed. He was outside hence cannot put money in escrow.
I did my best and completed 50% work before the deadline.
I immediately raised the invoice but he is neither paying nor responding to my messages. This was done Last Wednesday in my timezone. Its been a week now.
What to do?
How long should I wait?
Shall I inform his professor that he has outsourced the assignment?

Hi Pratibha,
Completing class work for 'buyers' is against our terms and conditions.
https://support.peopleperhour.com/hc/en-us/articles/205218187-Jobs-posting-policies
Prohibited jobs
All kinds of work can be posted as a Job on PeoplePerHour. There are just a few things that aren’t accepted:
- Offers of permanent employment, partnerships, franchises or joint ventures. PPH is a marketplace for freelance services only.
- Unpaid work / profit or revenue share / commission only / payment in exchange of skills or services. All Jobs should be paid for, either by an hourly rate or a fixed price.
- Requests to complete university/ college/ school work.
- Requests to undertake activity such as post listings on other websites for the purpose of evading those websites account processes or policies.
- Fraudulent listings, requests for illegal services, spam or listings posted purely for the purpose of promoting another business or website.
- Requests for artificial social media followers/likes or product/business reviews (or indications judged carefully at our discretion that the Buyer requested indeed artificial deliverables)
You can raise a dispute with our team using support@peopleperhour.com, however this buyer may know that you shouldn't have accepted the job in the first place. I don't understand how the job got through our moderation!

Pratibha, I would await the outcome from PPH dispute team.
Swarupa, You should have the money after 15days if you have already sent the invoice, unless the buyer has disputed the invoice. It will automatically release after this time.
Please let me know if I can help with anything else.
