Payment was done 6 months ago but still client wants me to provide support
Hello All,
I would like to draw your attention to a recent situation with a client who has expressed dissatisfaction and threatened to leave a negative review for my work.
The client initially contacted me on March 8, 2023. Following a lengthy discussion, we officially commenced the project on May 2, 2023, after they accepted my deposit request. However, throughout the development process, the client made numerous changes to the project requirements. Consequently, I adapted to these evolving requirements, which extended the project timeline.
Once I completed the work, the client substantially modified the requirements again on May 9. They requested a complete redevelopment of the project, which I diligently undertook, resulting in additional days of work.
I consistently aimed to ensure the client's satisfaction. However, during development, they expressed dissatisfaction with our communication and threatened to terminate the project while hinting at a negative review. To prevent a negative review, I continued to accommodate their evolving requirements.
I ultimately delivered the work on May 17. While they accepted my invoice, they mentioned that they would provide feedback later, as they were awaiting feedback from their client.
On May 21, the client provided feedback and I immediately began working on their requested changes. However, on June 6, the client once again expressed dissatisfaction, despite having been content on May 21.
I received the following message on June 6: "Finally, my client has asked if they can change the color of some of the categories so it appears a different color underneath the text? Is this possible, and how much would it cost to add this?"
I continued to assist the client through September, working diligently to address their requests.
I would like to emphasize that I have been working on this project for the past Eight months for a fee of $300. However, as I have reached a point where I am no longer interested in further modifications, the client has resorted to threatening a negative review.
It can be disheartening when a diligent professional invests substantial effort into a project and endeavors to deliver high-quality work, only to face the prospect of a negative review under such circumstances.
Now client tried to do changes in the code on his own and he has broken something and now He wants me to fix it. I never faced this type of situation in my entire career.
I know He can not leave any feedback now because that time window has already passed but What should I do to avoid any consequence?
Thank you
