New system aimed primarily at matching newer sellers with buyers

Really p++ed off with the current PPH system. Why - as a native English speaker - can I not send a proposal to talk with foreign students to improve their English? And why - as an ordinary, animal loving person - can I not send a proposal for house sitting and caring for two pets? The current system is too prescriptive and too narrow - it seems just about everything I know I an capable of, I am not allowed to bid for now. The system is also insulting to those buying services, as it suggests that these people are incapable of screening and selecting the Seller they believe is the best match for the task they need covered.

Come on PPH, it's time for a rethink!

Has anyone had problems getting paid on here at all? I mean I've given them my financial details and i applied to withdraw yesterday just after 4pm. It's now 4pm the following day and I've not heard anything. I just sent them a message asking what was going on and I've not even had that automated message saying they'll respond within a day.

    Should I be worried?

@Gillian, I would check your transactions in your wallet. I am no longer getting email alerts telling me that my funds are on the way to the bank, I am having to check them myself.  This new payment system is appalling, I am submitting a withdrawal on, for example, Tuesday morning, it it showing as completed in my wallet on Wednesday and I am having to wait for the money hitting my bank until the Friday or even the following Monday. The old system was way better but obviously the geeks getting paid a fortune needed something to mess about with  :/

Yes, payments seem to be taking an extra day to reach my bank account too since the new system was introduced. Not sure how that's an improvement...

I've read most of the questions, comments and answers to all this frustrating and limiting new "features" of PPH policy.

I've come to the conclusion that if PPH value us and want to make things possible for us to work and profit, which means PPH will continue prifiting by our relations via the platform and projects we buy and sell  PPH EITHER HAS TO RETURN THE PREVIOUS CONDITIONS FOR WORK  OR WE WILL ALL HAVE TO MOVE TO ANOTHER FREELANCE SITES  LIKE FREELANCER.COM OR ODESK OR ELANCE.

Yet again another sneaky surprise from PPH. I get sent unsuitable jobs but when I make the effort to look for jobs I feel would be perfect for me I'm am denied the option to apply even though I have these skills listed. What a waste of time.

You too @ Amanda? How many more of us are being pissed about once again? Over the past week I have apparently gained skills in business marketing, German translation and photography, yet cannot bid on product descriptions  which make up around 50% of my Feedback, Once Cashfish is up and running I feel a mass exodus coming on of both freelancers and clients.

I'm not sure how this new system is going to turn out after fine tuning for PPH, buyer and seller. But maybe it would be a start if PPH did not post jobs on the jobs board which are not available straight away to everybody.vice sell issu

I was poking around at DeskDonkie, now SuperTasker and notices that the prices changed over the last month. More interestingly, when you sign up, you could only HIRE tasks. Now, you can choose to be a PROVIDER. The intake form requires a photo and government ID, which may violate the Patriot act (US way overreaching law). I found this interesting. Does this mean and that successful PPH freelancers are NOT interesting in being a "DeskDonie/SuperTasker"? It seems notw DD/ST will be just yet another freelancing site. Just like all the others. But with a government ID verification check - which I am sure will be faked by people in some countries and refused by other freelancers. So much for inviting top PPH freelancers. IF PPH could have sourced proven freelancers, they would have. So this change marks evidence that DD/ST does not have the freelancers from the PPH pool which was the idea of this project.

I had the invitation and didn't respond. I'm sure there must be many, many like me.

@ Eric & Karen, its a new site a couple of freelancers on here are setting up. They've been doing research amongst their clients and it's been so positive they are putting the site together now and have profiles on FB and Twitter. They aren't charging commission just a monthly fee as they are as sick as the rest of us of being shafted by sites. Am going to give it a go,  we need something new. After 7 years at this game I have never been so fed up :(

@ Consultopia Legal I've never had an invite either and quite frankly that suits me just fine, even with the name change!

Or rather my FB profile @consultopia

Fed up with having 8 years of legal training devalued because a system fails to pick the correct Freelancers, instead, picking "web designers" who have put "Terms & Conditions" in their skills offering to do the work for £20. It devalues the site, you end up seeing complaints on forums at how bad the quality of work is or the work never gets delivered. If the fact that web designers are being selected for legal work that I get locked out of drives me crazy. The stupid CERT system, despite being a 4 nearly 5, appears to get no where!

    Deb,

I had the DonkieKong invite a few months ago, I have been inundated with absolutely no work despite mirroring my profile from PPH on it.

So, you are not missing anything..

Why are you making it impossible for me to bid on jobs found on your website? On what grounds was my application rejected? Why can I not continue bidding on jobs on your website as I have been doing up to now?

It can have any name providing it works!

Joke of the day on the Jobs board. A clown looking for someone to raise £275K for her business (Pub), with a budget of £55.

If I could have made a suggestion for that money it would have been anyone of the big four banks. However someone else got there before me (no, someone living in a mud hut before I did) and ripped into her. Only for a freelancer to stick up for the poster. We are our own worse enemies!!!!!

I think "ripped into her" is a bit of an exaggeration..

Paul, not having a go at you. Although your sarcasm was brilliant. I for one am getting PO royally over people pecking freelancers to come and work for £1.83

In any event, buyers like that are not needed, not on any site!

Well done for having a go in any event

It's bizarre that people think someone can find you £275K and get paid less than the last visit a gas fitter was paid for a repair at my house. That person also put that same job up three times. Why do they do that?

If you put up an hourlie to find £275K for £55, I think you'll get some business..

Now and again I'll also point out the inadequacies of a spec. It rarely results in anything.

Another favourite (I always have lots of spare credits) is to make an outrageously expensive proposal.

If that's not all somebody on here wants an 7 page essay written for £48. You should see how much analysis it required.

Gillian, tell them they are clowns. If everyone did, the price conditioning on the site would increase.

I know in the past 12 months, my earnings on this site have cut in half, mainly due to people claiming to be Solicitors (in China etc), you cannot get licensed by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority if you are outside of the UK. Yet buyers are content with using more and more overseas freelancers on what was up to recently a UK dominated site?

It's crazy, they've since put it up to £60, but I'm going to turn it down. Ipeople on here are getting very silly, and there are jobs on PPH now for much less than before
