Offer an Instant Messaging or Chat feature between Buyers and Sellers
Sort of like the "facebook" style, allowing people to contact those online, and leave messages for those who aren't!

Hello,
I complete a job for someone that haven't pay me yet. PPH has at least added the escrow money to my my PPH wallet, thank you for that but the deposit suppose to be £35 and I just got £28 because of PPH charges (£6 charge!!) . So finally I was working on something for a long time, expecting £70, dealing with the buyer, changing lot of things till she was happy and now I just got £28 for all that many hours???
I know it's not PPH fault, it's the buyer´s fault but I wasn't expecting them also charging me when I am the only one who have done the things properly. Not very happy with PPH, don't think I can trust this page again.

Sara, that's rotten luck. You can't blame PPH for taking their commission you should have known that it would be 18%.
The real problem is with the buyer and a lesson to you to ask for 100% deposit on these jobs.
Depending on what it was, I'd still pursue the buyer. If they have a website, or better still a FB page, I'd make a nuisance of myself. If it's artwork, tell them they do not have the rights to it until the full amount is paid.

A process where a seller can directly message either a buyer or seller should be added, as at the moment sellers who wish to contact other sellers have to invite them to a job, or create a new job in order to start a discussion. There is, at the moment no way of directly contacting anyone without having to submit a proposal or wait for them to respond to your proposal.
Please bring something in to overcome this issue!!!

Which is exactly as it should be.

"There is, at the moment no way of directly contacting anyone without having to submit a proposal or wait for them to respond to your proposal."
Please explain a scenario where you need to contact someone when there is no job listing. You obviously have one now, so what is it?
PPH is not a directory site where you can contact sellers who could do a job for you. This is a "bid site", and for the site to survive, and all buyers and sellers get an equal chance at a job, you should just be listing the job as normal.
Why do you want to chat to a seller when there is no job on the table? Are they going to get paid for "chatting" to you? Maybe with you yes, but what about the many time wasters where sellers spend 20 mins for free and the seller ends up saying "Nah will be too much, thanks anyway" or whatever?
"Please bring something in to overcome this issue!!!"
There is no issue. It's just you obviously need to contact someone directly, when there is no need, and you are using the site incorrectly.
Perhaps PHH is not the right site for you, if your requirement is to chat to people directly without a job listing? You should only need to chat to someone when there is a job listed, and so list the job. And we already have a way to chat when there is a job, the message board. So you don't seem to have an issue..?
________
PPH chat should only be used when a job has been awarded.
Otherwise, it will just open up a social network, people chatting, sellers not getting paid for advising buyers on stuff, or discussing a job that doesn't even exist so no money guaranteed yet.
And people will bypass listing jobs, so other sellers no longer have a chance to bid, and PPH lose their percentage cut.I can see why sellers are slavering at the mouth for this to be implemented - can you PPH? See where this is heading yet?
If PPH are reading chat logs (which is very likely due to disputes and checking people are not bypassing PPH job system) then chat is not secure, and removes the ability to send login details or chat about sensitive website and business matters.
So, what is this proposal for exactly? To chat to people.. for what?
I don't get it.Once a job is awarded, use Yahoo chat, MSN messenger, email, Skype, one of the thousands of other mediums...
Then PPH can instead spend the time and money on making the site better, rather than pointless things which already exist.
What next, PPH make a browser so we can access the site...? -
James,
You've clearly got the wrong end of the stick, and please don't assume what I do or what I have done please.
By this, I have had it in the past where I may have forgotten to mention something when placing a bid to the seller, and as you well know there is no way to send any additional messages to the seller until they accept or respond to your bid.
Please do not assume that I waste the time of sellers, as I respect the site and its purposes for what it is.

That's something rather different to what you were asking for. That particular restriction was added by PPH for whatever reason - probably because buyers were sick of sellers messaging them all of the time.

Jack,
I did not get the wrong end of any stick, nor did I assume anything.
I commented on what you stated. If what you stated was inaccurate, missing info, or misleading, then there was nothing I could do about that.
With no disrespect intended, and I understand these things happen, the way to deal with the new issue you have now mentioned is simply don't forget anything when you make your proposal.
Read it over, and make sure it is 100% accurate and correct before submitting."Please do not assume that I waste the time of sellers, as I respect the site and its purposes for what it is."
I presumed nothing, I just responded based on the info you provided.
However, to be fair, an instant messages to someone because you forgot to mention something which could be avoided with a better proof read, is arguably wasting someone's time. It;s certinaly should be avoided.
It happens to all of us, but it's a little over the top to resolve forgetting to mention something by having a full blown instant messaging system with all buyers/sellers having some internal PPH social network, PPH to manage the new chat system, and emails for when it breaks, resource costs, developer time costs, etc, etc.
Which is why I asked "what could it be used for". So far, I don't see any valid argument which supports the implementing a chat system into PPH.

I for one think live chat is a good idea but obliviously for people who don't maybe an option to have it enabled /disabled at the persons convenience as well as the choice for a profile to be online / away / offline etc
I have many clients who insist on talking via skype so for me having a live chat facility via the website or even a downloadable app would be great.

I would love this also for clarification and interviewing clients on work details where necessary. I think it would be a good idea to limit it to use WITHIN an accepted proposal environment.
It would be better for PPH too. Having clients clarify things outside of PPH can lead to problems as discussions are not documented. Should there be an issue, we're not covered by PPH terms and conditions for either party (buyer / seller).
I've had many a client asking to chat more too. The current set up seems a little cumbersome for some.
