I appreciate this site is international, but I'm not clear, when I post a proposal if I should be including VAT as part of my quote.

  If you're VAT registered and you would be claiming VAT as part of your payment amount, then you would include that in your proposal yes.

  When you come to invoice the client at the end of the project, there is a box for VAT percentage, where you can insert the applicable VAT percentage for your country.

  If you don't charge VAT as part of your freelancing/business - then ignore it entirely :)

  Please advise what I need to do to raise an invoice. It says my tax info is not set up. The only thing I haven't entered is VAT since it doesn't apply in the U.S. I don't know what to do next.
