how do I know that the buyer hired me?

Now I and the buyer have discussed the details of the project, but I want to know that he hired me or not to start working

  how shall I recieve such notification ? is this via e mail or pph messaging ? I think I never got even a single project to work and I send many proposals. I want to know where I am making any mistake ? I am quite new on pph.

  I always see workstream notification but I don't find the work on workstream is there a problem.
