    Hi Vanessa,

Many thanks for your message. All messages get passed on to our product team, however as we have so many different avenues such as the blog, social media, customer service email, forums... we receive so many suggestions (and quite often we are overloaded with suggestions) that they all get placed in to a queueing system. It is just not possible to respond to each suggestion one-by-one with an update on progress, but the product team do receive and read through all the suggests that are passed on to them and we individually thank the original suggester.

With regards to your own suggestion, I will pass it on to the product team.

Answer: Because in the past few days this site has blocked access to sellers' profiles.

This is common practice on similar sites and is designed to stop providers contacting sellers directly.

How is this possible? The site doesn't give me the option to contact the seller even if I can see the profile. Doesn't this render the seller rating useless? Is like removing all the traffic lights because some people are committing infractions.

I've just sent a proposal. Now, on workstream only: I can click on buyer's name and see his profile. This way I can check his reviews and decide to keep or cancel proposal.
    Not ideal, but still useful.

Do you get your bid back?

Vanessa, I did not canceled the proposal since the buyer has many good reviews and seems nice.
I don't think you will get proposal point back... only if buyer cancels the job as I remember.

Suggestion re. viewing Seller Profiles [please vote to see this reinstated]

I have raised the issue of not being able to see Buyer's profile before raising a proposal, only to be told that there were so many Sellers abusing the system by contacting the seller directly and either hassling them to do a deal outside of PPH or pressuring them into accepting their bid or "blackmailing" them (wtf?) that PPH felt they had no option but to remove this useful feature as people were even leaving and both buyers and sellers were complaining.

Now I like to get some background on my clients to help structure the bid and even to try to determine what their business record is like in terms of feedback, etc. so I am very much missing this feature.

What I have suggested is to perhaps give access to those of us who do play by the rules and have established our reputations over time on PPH as reliable. I myself am cat 5+ and have been here for a number of years.

It is important to get new business as even small jobs can turn out to bring repeat business in the future.

I would pitch differently to a Techie than a Trainer or a Sales person compared to a Director. It might also be helpful to understand the nature of their business, etc.

Now I have no way of knowing if the Buyer is at all reliable or what the nature of their business actually is.

I feel like the innocent are being punished because of the actions of the guilty.

Please help to put pressure on PPH to reinstate this feature for those of us above a certain category who have a good record of keeping our business in PPH and being courteous and professional with clients.

    Thanks.

Removing the opportunity to check out a buyer before working for them is ludicrous - you would never apply for a job before knowing who the company is.

I understand PPH are trying to stop people working outside the site. Well, firstly, people will do this anyway if they want to as soon as they make contact and secondly, this is not to protect us, but to protect PPH's commission on our work.

Meanwhile, this punishes the genuine people who are loyal and honest on this site. I've been stung by an unscrupulous seller on here to the tune of £2500 (and PPH did nothing to help me), so I for one will never bid on here again, not until they reinstate this essential feature.

We need something better than this - maybe a way of seeing a redacted version of the buyers details with contact links removed, or something like that?
