Just lost a client today because I was on a holiday in another country, mostly visiting this website from my tablet.

Now every bid I make for a local jobs and projects is being declined because of inappropriate location positioning.

 

First of all I am highly disappointed that there's not even one point here that's saying that every user of the website is being tracked and located, and his location settings being changed in favour of the owners of the website and hidden behind the "better user experience provision".

I personally find this very unprofessional and unethical not to be informed about the option to be tracked around the world, not to mention the immediate case of losing money, contacts and clients because of that.

Please, fix this and be honest with the users as we need to know whether is any location privacy in this service and in what exact way this website's owner is using this in his advantage?

I would like to have all the questions asked above answered ASAP and the location tracking of the website users to be stopped immediately.

  I have also just realised my profile shows an incoreect location! Switzerland

  Surely this should be based on the address and the documents provided to pph!

  What do i need to do to change it back to uk!

  I have this issue as well, it's silly for a tech company to be relying on a sessions IP address to set a users physical location when literally Government ID has been provided.

  It's even crazier that the average of IP address locations isn't at least used, which means that if you use an internet café,  or thier geoIP service gets it wrong,  or you go on vacation or any of the thousands of issues with geo IP guessing that they will literally set your location to a foreign country you've never even been too.
