I agree commission is too high on all jobs. On £200, you loose £19, then the 2% and small 50p "costs". It all adds up.

The commission is too high for a lot of the lower-paid jobs. I can appreciate it takes a lot to maintain the site and the staff, but we need to eat too!

It wouldn't be quite so bad if we at least had unlimited free credits. PPH would gain in the long run because you'd be top-slicing more jobs if we could bid on as many as we'd like to. The charge for extra credits is not only way too high, it's counter-productive.

Yes it would be nice to see a scaleable commission. Gets my vote

Having been a long-standing member of this site, I have the same concern. I am getting hit with costs from all angles that is not making the site worth my while.

I recently did a small job for $100 but People Per Hour took almost 25% then I was hit with the exchange rate! I was then again hit with a processing fee. Again, I recently did a job for £225 and People Per Hour took a fairly big chunk of £54, not to mention losing 3 proposal credits because it is "high value". I do not know of any agency that takes such large commission.

According to PPH terms and conditions, in respect of seller's fees, I am charged 3.5% plus VAT on a per monthly bill basis, not per job but yet the fee is deducted each time a job is completed, not on a per month basis. This may suggest I am being charged PPH fees more than once if other earnings are also taken into account.

If you have used up your 15 proposals per month on jobs that are wasted on non-awarded or redundant jobs for long periods of time then you have to pay for more proposal credits. I cannot see the logic of this at all apart from pure profiteering.

Of course, I could charge more in my proposals but buyers on this site are looking for low budget or cheap jobs. I only submit proposals to jobs that appear sensible with a reasonable budget which are, sadly, very few and far between. In my experience, around 1 in 30 proposals are sensible or reasonable but even then I am hit with extortionate fees.

I simply cannot rely on PPH too much for my income but if they were more fair I would promote my profile and services widely, which I am sure, in turn, PPH will reap significantly more commission. If sellers secure and complete jobs, PPH make commission. After all, without sellers, PPH cannot meet the demand of buyers so it is high time we are treated more fairly.

I think buyers should only pay a fair commission for each job, nothing more. This will encourage buyers to secure jobs from sellers quickly and at the same time, PPH make commission. If PPH charge for proposals then this suggests to me that not enough buyers are securing the jobs to make sufficient commission for PPH.

When you look at the hourlies sold you notice that only few have more than 50 wheres on other sites you can see a lot people with 1000+ sold gigs, services. All of this because PPH takes up to 30% of your money! That is why we have to ask more money on our service than on other sites and this of course reduces the number of buyers. So high taxes&comissions only harm PPH not anyone else. Sellers can work in other sites too and buyers usually prefer other places to buy a service. I am sure if the comissions were only 15% PPH would earn more than they do earn now taking 25-30%..

Since I was ill for a month and couldn't work, caring PPH has increased my percentage fee to 24% including VAT. I explained my circumstances, but they refused to budge.

Therefore, I have about 60 credits sitting on my account but I don't bother to use them most of the time. I work elsewhere for a much more reasonable fee.

PPH has become one of the greedy fatcats, feeding off people like us and being totally oblivious to the fact that they're killing off their own business. Soon, they won't have many of the higher-earners left because they'll all have gone somewhere else.

Wake up PPH before it's too late for you. We can go elsewhere - where will you go?

20%  for first  £500  for each client is far too much

Most jobs are 'one off''    so I lose  £20 in every £100  for virtually ALL clients

So I have to charge  £20  extra to make my earnings realistic and to sell them for what they are worth.

A small % fee for ALL sales with ALL clients would be much better

Agree with this that the new commission structure is way too high.  When your average charges to your clients range between £50 - £300 a 20% commission when you've done over £25K with PPH already.

Plus you have to pay a fee when disputing a workstream.  This site is becoming a joke.
