Improve the Invitation System
I keep getting invitations to bid on irrelevant projects - such as projects with a local projects happening elsewhere, of course, or projects with a 10 pounds budget. I would really appreciate to be able to customize the bot sending me invites by adding rules to it (don't invite me to anything with less than 100 budget). Also, these invitations pile up in my dashboard and they are visually disturbing. Because of the way the interface is setup, discarding them takes 2-3 clicks per project, it would be nice to be able to either clear the entire thing at once, or have projects invitations expire (maybe they can stay archived elsewhere but not piling up in my dashboard). Thanks

Hi both,
Thank you for your messages.
Our job invitation algorithm is based on searches you have conducted, job proposals you have submitted and hourlies/skills you have submitted to our site. It is a highly intelligent algorithm that is constantly updating itself. If you click on the 'irrelevant skill set' tab when cancelling a job invite it will update the algorithm. Likewise if you are narrowing down your searches as David is doing, it will narrow down your job invites. The converse is also true.
It is completely up to you. Either, you can either inform support@peopleperhour.com that you would like the algorithm to wipe all built up knowledge about you and start again. Or, you can continue as you are and sooner than you realise the "bot" will start working for you like a 'computerised secretary' filtering out a lot of our jobs that you don't want to see and many that you do and won't need to spend proposal credits for.
Of course there may still be a few that get through that you don't want to see if you have very broad search terms in your skills.
Please let me know if I can help with anything else.

I put my travel limit at 200 miles, but am getting jobs from America and Monaco and just about everywhere else! I've reduced it to 50 miles to see if it makes a difference. But I do think that your filtering needs to be improved as it falsifies the amount of jobs offered, making the percentage of useful jobs very low indeed.
