Please encourage art buyers to provide more detailed briefs
I'm finding it harder and harder to send proposals on the art and illustration side of the site as buyers are providing so little info in their briefs.
To provide a price and time scale for an art job you really need quite a lot of information to be accurate but a number of briefs are just one sentence of text.
I try to ask questions on the clarification board but I've notice these are rarely replied to and its not jut my questions. Most clarification board messages I see don't have a reply.
Could you please encourage buyers who are posting art jobs to include the following information?
1. How much artwork they need. For example, I often see "I need a children's book illustrating" but no indication of how many illustrations they need.
2. Some indication of the kind of artstyle they're interested in. There's no point sending a proposal on a job if you don't work in the style the client is after.
3. When do they need the images finished by.
If they can't provide the info at this stage could you at least encourage them to ask for an hourly rate rather than an overall price?
Thank you

Hi Bryony
The same problems occur in fashion design which is my area of expertise. There are lots of requests that read along the lines of 'I need someone to design my swimwear for me'.
Sellers are able to ask interview questions. Could PPH add something similar to this for buyers when they are posting jobs? Lots of requests are too vague and clarification questions are ignored.
