50% PPH fees us too high

Recently I did two projects one is $10 and other is £6 so total is $18. If you deduct the 20% PPH fee, which is 3.50 in this case, that means I should be received round about $14 but that is not the case PPH deduct 50% fee and I received  $9.91.

If you are deducting 50%, then what is the benefit of working here. I am using upwork from last 4 years and I don't have an issue with their fee structure they are also deducting 20%.  If the situation is going on like that I will soon quit working here. The snapshot is given.
