    Think we need to ram home the point that without us (sellers and buyers) they don't have a business and if we continue getting robbed they will start to lose both. If everyone goes quiet PPH win and we pay 20% for the foreseeable future I for one can't keep paying that for every one off job.

    Just did some quick sums. In order to reach the £5000 threshold with a client, we will pay £437 in fees to get there, with £87.40 VAT on top.

    So that’s £524.40 in total. WOW.

    Here’s the maths (holla if you spot this is incorrect, mathematics is not my strong suit!)

    20% of £500 = £100 (+ £20 VAT)

    7.5% of £4499 = £337 (+ £67.40 VAT)

    What is the actual benefit of being a Top Seller now? I used to always request that all work was done via PPH to build my profile/reputation and to become a top seller.

    I don't seem to have any benefits in PPH's eyes over somebody who signs up today now I don't think?

    No they won't change it if we we all just let it go, they are probably waiting for the dust to settle on this and turn around to each other and say "there we go a big fuss over nothing"

    But they also charge 10% to clients. Lot of my clients are angry because of the fees they are being charged. They ask us to take payments outside PPH and we decline and loose them.

    Overall they are taking 30% fee plus proposal fee plus featured hourlie fee and on top of that payment withdrawal fee and currency conversion fee.

    This platform was on par with other freelancer platforms when we started back in 2013 i think. Without us doing anything the work was flowing just from hourlies. I remember once upon a time i had daily 10 to 12 inquiries sometimes more on hourlie without doing anything. I was not at all bidding. Was only featuring twice a week. 

    But now even after spending 80 to 100 usd a day less to no inquiries on hourlie.

    It's simple then... leave the platform and watch it tank! Without freelancers the site will not exist.

    Since July 3rd or so when I discovered the new fee structure, I started turning down jobs simply because I didn't want PPH to get the money I was entitled to. All it is now is $10 jobs and those meant for entry level sellers. I haven't seen a decent job posted here this month so slowly winding down and using my existing credits (which I bought!) and hopefully will soon say 'sayonara' to People Per Sour!

    if they are not going to change it why they are asking us for feedback. They obviously got enough feedback that sellers are unhappy. 

    PPH needs to do something re marketing as because hourlies are not being sold the jobs which requires proposals are filled with sellers. on average each web design and development job has 90+ proposals. Have spent 360 USD in proposal cost, featured hourlies this month so far. Result of featuring hourlies regularly every three days and featuring multiple hourlies i got one sale of 169 USD on hourlie.

    Traffic is declining. Clients are running when they come to know they are being charged 10%. PPH needs to do something. We are surviving on this platform. PPH really needs to listen. We are a family and it hurts to see this platform going down. Lots of hopes with PPH. Their success is our success and vise versa. Please do something PPH.

    Has anyone tried going to Xenios, or whatever his name is, via LinkedIn etc. Perhaps if they ignore us here we can target them individually via that platform. Xenios is very a foolish man. Sure, it's one thing to increase the fees, but such a massive jump is pure stupidity. Karma will bite PPH in the butt! hehehehe

    I received this response from Support yesterday;

     

    "Thank you for the response. I know you are upset and I would be if I were you. However, in a long term if this measure proves not to be cost efficient for the majority of Sellers on the Platform the decision could be re-evaluated by the Team in charge and may be altered."

    This bit really angers me:

    NOT EVERY CLIENT IS A REPEAT CLIENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! are they for real!!

    Lots of people come here for a one of piece of work, for example they need a logo done, they aren't going to then come back for another 5 logos unless they are another company outsourcing!!

    Seriously how hard is that to understand the whole point of PPH is to get small jobs done quick if we where here to build up repeat work we would all get a full time job or a Contract and not freelance!

    Market research? hahaha they have done absolutely no research on this its purely just to make more money from us! unbelievable!

    it was introduced in May for us. So we are actually paying more fees from May. They were beta testing on us lol. From July its been rolled out for rest of the community. I am happy with the fees if we are able to get clients who appreciate craftsmanship and are ready to pay 500 GBP plus. But a very few clients even pay half the price.

    I have been speaking to PPH Customer Service about this as I am firmly firmly against the new changes.

    I have used the site for nearly 9 years, am Top CERT (ranked 46th in total on the whole site) and have £83000 total billings.

    Last week I raised an invoice for £350, previously I would have paid 3.5% on this, this time I paid 20% and nearly £90 in total was taken from this.

    I have a successful business and I use PPH to fill in gaps and the nature of my work means a lot of my clients only need one off jobs or annual jobs so this absolutely does not suit my business model.  I have raised this to CS but am being told this won't change and it's 'beneficial to most'.  Clearly reading this thread it isn't beneficial to most at all and I would hope that they would see sense, and take our comments into account...

    They do not believe it is beneficial to us, thats a smoke screen. I'd rather they were just honest and say they want to make more money.

     

    It has not been done for the benefit of the community and this is solely angering people.

    The first response I got last week said:

We encourage you to seek repeat business with your clients and/or to consider modifying the costs you currently propose for new business. We are committed to attracting and helping you connect with Buyers and grow your business. We are investing heavily in attracting Buyers who are looking to connect with Sellers for large or long-term projects, or looking to add freelancers to their in-house team, creating recurring business. 

     

    I went back to say that was rubbish and they weren't listening to my comments and and got this:

     

    We appreciate your contribution and feedback for the new Fee Scheme. I understand your concerns on the matter. 
    However, this change has been decided by our Team after deep thought for what would be more beneficial to the Users of PPH and the platform. In PPH, we greatly value long-term relationships between the Buyers and Sellers. This scheme promotes just that. 
    This New fee Scheme applies to all our Users and even though you are one of our best freelancers, the option to return to the old scheme is not available for anyone. I understand that you may feel that you are negatively affected by this change but I assure you that it will be beneficial in the end.

    The whole thing is nonsense.  I agree we shouldn't let it drop...

    Is it applies to everybody, what benefit is there of being a top seller? Surely there should be an advantage of being a top seller.

    If somebody has been on here for 8 years and gained hundreds of positive feedback and billed thousands through PPH surely they should have perks over somebody who has just signed up?

    I run a popular online group with over 850+ UK members discussing everything from freelance marketing, customer experiences, platforms and practices and the PPH fees comes up a lot and Im finding latley that more and more people mentioning them and its usually in disgust, buyers included.

    Dont get me wrong I love the PPH platform and its definitley up there with the best of them and although is'nt perfect has some great advantages over the others.

    The general opinion of PPH is the fee's were steep and now they are just plain greedy and 'borderline criminal, not my word's. And members I know who were doing well eg Top Cert are starting to look elsewhere, including myself which Ive not had to do in my 6+ years as a member which cannot be good for the platform.

    Like it has been said some of the long standing members have thousands going through their accounts every month and PPH will be making huge profits on this and it may be argued if you dont like it simply dont use it  but in all honesty these new fees need re-evaluating, if they remain or something isnt done I can see its reputation online only getting worse and fear it will crash and burn and i predict another platform appearing and taking over.

    For whatever good you guys think it will do I voted to return to the older fees.

    Definitely the old structure  !

    The new structure has ruined the business and totally down .Nothing to take home . my 90 %customers are new and below the threshold of £500 . 

    PPH says , this is to establish a relation between buyer. But what we dont have such buyers ..Sad with the new structure

    Top Cert Seller with billings of £290,100 -  the new fee structure is not great I would prefer the old scheme, but quite frankly this site has long since been irrelevant, the quality of the jobs and clients is awful. 

    I actually think the 10% + 60p buyers are charged is far far worse and puts off (or enrages if they only discover this after the fact) serious buyers.

    We have seen some very experienced freelancers say this change doesn't help them. 

    The notion that a 20% fee is helping anyone is a bold faced lie from PeoplePerHour.  Freelancers who have had £150,000+ have said it doesn't help them.  The very nature of this site and online freelancing means that the majority of customers will be new.  Tons of low budget, one-off buyers and the rare long-term buyer.  

    I have had 250+ customers.  I have a 100% rating.  I have done over $40,000 in transactions. I have 2 clients who might be over the $700 threshold.  The vast majority (I'd say 95%+) will fall into the 20% fee bracket.
