I know, thats how I feel. Feel like I’ve just done the past two weeks of work for free. I’m just going to divert clients to work with me direct now as I’m worried about PPH future.

I'm the same. The thing is if it was above board they'd just put communication out saying what the issue is.

I can't comprehend how they could be in financial difficult. They literally have a platform that they make tonnes of money from. Its one of the most basic platforms I've ever seen.

I think the pandemic must have hit them financially, I have noticed that jobs have been very up and down throughout the year, February was really bad for me personally on here. Then again there's always the chance that someone high up as drained all the money out of it and done a runner, wouldn't be the first company.

What they're doing is illegal, withhold payments yet still allowing clients to post jobs and pay deposits. If that's the case, they should be closing the site until they manage their finances. This silence is doing nothing but damaging their reputation which makes me think they know they are going bust anyway and don't care.

Just talked to the Customer support, here's the important stuff:

I assure you there’s no reason to worry, we just have increasing checks to perform as we grow due to regulation around money laundering etc. but nothing to worry about

I agree with you, but we hope to resolve this matter today, so no need for a general announcement. You are correct though, if we had done that last week, it would have been optimal.

I just know 100% they are not going to process them today. Even some of my clients are waiting for refunds from PPH and they are not processing them.

So they've went from being overloaded with work, to technical issues and now money laundering. How dumb do they think we are!?

Even if they do eventually pay. It is clear that they are not financially stable.

Would have been optimal? Honestly who actually believes this at this point?

Could be something to do with the new IR35 law:

As for PPH, their financial reports are looking good:

And here's the CEO saying the rates are going up:

@milos Why not just put communication out then to say that due to new legislation, the checks will take longer. They keep saying different things, or nothing at all, which is causing all the worry.

So they had company growth during the late 2020 and now the recovery from Covid stuff is even better. I really hope these are only technical difficulties, I've been working here for years and would hate to have to leave.

Ok, might have been helpful to do that at the start, but hopefully we'll get our funds soon!

Mine has been done too. Definitely think there's more to in than meets the eye in terms of their cash flow...

Wonder if this has anything to do with me calling them out on twitter. Announcing this 2 weeks ago would have been a better idea and not leaving everyone waiting. Still very suspect though.

    https://www.peopleperhour.com/blog/company-news/freelancer-payments-processing/

They say they are growing but freelance projects on the site use to be around 6,500 in total, but now they are around 4,400 on average. Been with PPH since around 2014 and these delays have happened since then and I am sure it will happen again and again and with newer excuses each time. Been with another freelancer site since 2014 also and have never had a payment withdrawal issue with them.

Is anyone actually receiving the funds or just saying it has been processed?

Just this minute had mine- weirdly it doesn't say from PPH it says from World Pay. Just had someone pay another invoice though so we'll see what happens with that one.

Finally!!! I have received my money which I requested on 23d and 26th!

I counted carefully and realized that actually the PPH really did it within 48 WORKING  hours, or 6 working days. 23 was Friday, so they worked 26,27,28,29,30 and today 4, is the 6th day. But in fact I had to wait 11 days and of course it was very, very long(((
