Milestone payments or return to previous system

PPH have got this completely wrong. Other sites do not do this - they have milestone payment systems. If you have longer processing times, you have to have a system whereby freelancers can set their own milestone payments. PPH do not have this and this eco system is about to grind to a halt. 

A shame because this was a better site than the others. Ain't no one sticking around for this mess.

  best way is discuss milestone with your customer and when you completed milestone you can release invoice for it.

  PPH's system is not set up for us to set our own milestone payments - that was my point.

  They either need to set up a milestone payment system or return to the old timescale.

  I wasn't suggesting you set milestones in the current system - that isn't how the current system works.

  You can arrange milestone payments yourself with your buyer, I do it all the time. Plus, even if you do this, the payments would still take the same time to process, so dont really see any benefit to what you suggest?

  That depends on your industry. As a writer, people don't expect to do milestone payments and technically that is not within PPH's system - the terms are the job should be complete when you send it. However, on other freelance sites, milestone payments are part of the system so people aren't suspicious about it.

  Yes 100% it wouldn't change the wait time but it would change the length of time you have to wait from the beginning of the job until you receive a payment into your bank. Requesting a payment from early on instead of once the client has completed the invoice reduces the length of time you have to wait.

  The current situation is completely unacceptable. A long wait in any respect is not ok. However if they're making comparisons to other sites they need to take into consideration that other sites use milestone payment systems so their wait time is actually even worse than they suggest.
