Scam on 2583512
AnsweredI was invited to a job post https://www.peopleperhour.com/freelance-jobs/admin/customer-service/multi-tasking-customer-service-representative-2583512?utm_source=BuyerInvitationsToBid&utm_medium=tr_email&utm_campaign=job-invitations&ref=email and after the interview they wanted me to go out and purchase an "activation card" at a grocery store to setup the Automated Time Tracker for their company and supposedly be reimbursed. Yeah, right. I wasted 2 hours with this person. And it was a gmail account for a big company. The interview was held through Hangouts. Ugh. I just don't understand why people do this. I believe time is money and this wasted so much of my time.

Hello Jean,
indeed, there are some individuals that will attempt to take advantage of Freelancers. We have implemented various security precautions, and we are conducting verification procedures constantly, however human 'ingenuity' can still bypass systems.
This is a general internet issue. With the assistance -and reports- of our members, such individuals cannot last for more than 48 hours after the posting of their Project.
As a general rule, please do not accept outside communication with a Buyer unless there is an accepted proposal, and funds in the Escrow account.
And of course, if you find anything suspicious, please do not hesitate to contact us, in order to investigate.
The reported Project, as well as the individual that posted it, have been removed from our platform.
Have a nice day.
