Invalid Phone Number

I've seen this issue mentioned in a large amount of posts spanning at least 2 years. My phone number was initially accepted, however anytime I try to update my profile, I am unable to save due to "invalid phone number." In order to move forward, I have chosen to use my childhood home number, which is accepted, but I would like to have my actual phone number entered. Has anyone figured out how to correct this issue? It would be nie to have this bug corrected as it seems to happen to a lot of people using the site.
