New system aimed primarily at matching newer sellers with buyers
So now it seems I have to wait two hours before I can bid for a job. This is extremely unfair. Not only do experienced creatives/designers have to compete with an unfair playing field, ie people offered to do a job for £10 when it is clearly worth £100, we are now not allowed to bid for jobs as soon as they appear on PPH. What kind of system is this?!
Awful. Unfair. Unprofessional. Discriminatory.

They need to seriously sort out the glitches on Chrome like as this is really taking the piss! I have just had to send 5 separate messages to a client as I can only write 3 lines then it stops dead and I have to send it. Its beggars belief how a company of this size with so much money in the coffers can get it so wrong EVERY bloody time!!

There's a workaround Deb - write your email in Notepad or Word then copy and past it into the message window on PPH. Once the text is longer than the original three-line window it seems to override whatever is causing the glitch and expand to fit your message.
(I still wish there was an easy way to add an extra initial to my name to distinguish me from the other Rebecca who posts here too :))

Uh, apparently my post is "bogus" according to the PPH gremlins! I'll try again...

Just received about a thousand emails from this forum ;) so thought I best check out the issues - I use Firefox and everything is working fine at my end.....so far! Do agree that they are fucking about with things again instead of concentrating on the more important issues.
PPH need to get a grip.
-
@Rebecca :) - and for anyone else really, when you are posting a msg on here, once you've typed it, and clicked 'Save comment', it may pop up with an error msg. If it does that just click on the back button on your browser, and then hit the 'refresh' button, and the page should be strangely enough 'refreshed' to include your comment.

thanks for the workarounds but these problems didn't exist yesterday and now after one of the ugliest makeovers ever it's all gone tits up! For every message being posted on here I am receiving 8 email alerts, so Rebecca I received your tip 8 times. Once again they seem to have bent over backwards to make things as difficult as possible for us freelancers and somebody seriously needs to let them know that system testing does not include one guy running through a system at 3am with his back to it while waiting for the kettle to boil as this very much seems to be way they do things.

Sorry folks you must be sick to death of my whinging by now but has anyone else received the newest crap PPH emails from 'Lucy Clarke'?
I have just received one alerting to me to best possible hourlies to suit my needs.

Hey Deb,
We did some research for the best Web writing Hourlie offers available, delivered by our top experts. Here's what we recommend for you:
|
Now, I SE:LL hourlies I don't buy them and B they are all of the same ilk as I offer so I should clearly abandon mine, stop making money and purchase my competitors instead!! I wonder if these people have had the joy of my hourlies dropping into their inbox?
To say this PPH lot live in the Twilight Zone is a compliment, and now I have even more shit clogging up my inbox :( :(
-
@Deb - I used to get these too - basically I'd get an email telling me I should purchase some hourlies that were exactly or as near as dammit exactly what I offer. I responded the first time it happened asking the same question as you about how I could get my hourlies into the next newsletter. I got no reply as those emails are sent out by bots and the accounts are unmanned.
I know it has been said a couple of hundred times in this thread and elsewhere, but I get the feeling that PPH goes out of its way to avoid engaging with sellers.
-
@malcolm - I was starting to wonder if you had affiliations with the PPH helpdesk lol ;)
I appreciate you telling me because without refreshing the page I wouldn't have seen that my posts had taken and I would have kept spamming you all until I eventually realised what had happened (or got bored and gave up).

I love the fact that PPH has set this comments system up back to front...so most recent posts are at the end, and when you write a comment, you get taken back to the beginning...
If people are still surprised by PPH inability to run a bath, then that is shocking.
When Christophoros or whatever his name is, kept plugging me for information on how to set up things on SuperTasker, without the decency to answer my mails after i got fed up of giving him freebie advice!!
The way PPH has changed from what I originally signed up to!!! The layout has been crap from the upgrade two years ago...
The way I cannot easily communicate with potential customers. The way customers complained they were being spammed by freelancers, so PPH just cut off direct communication.
The easier way would have been to ban anyone sending the same email more than 5 times (gets rid of cut and paste merchants)
I love the way potential customers will be buying all these 'Hourlies' for 'back links' only to notice a drop off in rankings!! Love it!!!
People must think Google don't read these 'offers' 'Best houtlie yet - BUY 40,000 back links'
Google has rules...one of which is it is illegal (in their eyes) to buy back links :)
One of the reasons I think certain Hourlies will fundamentally see a downturn in PPH, as it becomes more and more a 'rich mans' Fiverr....
Having said I keep threatening to set up a couple of honest/cost effective Hourlies to see if anyone really does buy a service blind.... :)
anyway going to unsubscribe from this now, as I am getting way to many emails...I am surprised anyone is left on PPH bidding for work...

If you do not possess the skills mentioned above, you can remove them from your profile.
Is this Job irrelevant with your skills? Let us know so that we can improve
So this is what is now on the bottom of the emails with the irrelevant skills.
The first one obviously refers to the secret profiles we have that only PPH can see as nowhere on my profile does it say I am a data processor so really don't see how it will be removed.
The second one? Do me a favour we have been telling them this for how long now?
-
I never got the bogus post message so I don;t know about that one. As for the other, hmmm, about 1/10 I get are actually relevant so that remains to be seen. Their next job needs to be to scrap these bloody Lucy Clarke emails telling me to buy other hourlies the same as my own, have had 5 now :(
-
@Rob, I take it you realize that you posted that msg 4, yes 4 times lol
When Christophoros or whatever his name is, kept plugging me for information on how to set up things on SuperTasker, without the decency to answer my mails after i got fed up of giving him freebie advice!!
Did you mean Xenios? If you did then your mad. I wouldn't have given him free advice.

@Deb - I've never bothered myself, you wanna know why? Because if they wont listen to us when we complain about the keyskills issue that has existed for how long now?, then what's the point in telling them anything else?
