Paypal delay?
hello - realise its still early, but pay pal payments are generally made before 3pm.
can you advise if there is a delay today.
I am chasing this now, because the last time this happened, everyone went home on a Friday and there was no one to look into it. And we were told nothing for days.

I imagine it is either a run on payments on a Friday that they need to accommodate with extra staff. Or they ate seeking to make interest on our cash over the weekend. Either way it's very poor not to keep people informed. The last two times this happened has always coincided with an important weekend for me where the money is needed. I'll know to request it on a Thursday in the future.

Thanks James - no contact as yet. Just over an hour till today's payments are due to be processed - we will see.
The thing is that they give 1 working day for PayPal payments - but in practise this happens within hours almost always. Therefore if for some reason there is a delay, it would be nice to know.
The last time this happened I was left waiting for several hundred pounds for several days.
I will be avoiding requesting money on a Friday in the future. Which reduces the number of days I can be paid to just 4 per week. Which in this age of instant bank payments is a bit ridiculous.
Being a freelancer is hard enough without annoying payment schedules.

I totally understand faults can happen but surely in this day and age, a simple email just explaining payments will be delayed to everyone is not asking too much is it?
I use Paypal as a payment method in Ireland which takes 24 hours from when my funds hit paypal, so if request money on monday i wont see it in my bank account till Wednesday. Very frustrating.

Oh, I am so frustrated by this.
Last time I had to wait until wednesday. My only form of income is my freelance work (much of which is on PPH) and having to wait causes me cash flow issues.
Last time I asked for compensation in they gave me 10 credits. The fact is that all my work is word of mouth therefore that was useless to me.
All we want is information...

Incredibly frustrating - I have 'multiple income sources' so it's not TOO bad, and my clients outside PPH pay quickly, on time, and without screwing around, so I'm quite lucky in that respect.
I was bitten some years ago by dependence upon a single payment source and so have worked hard to spread my work around - but it is incredibly annoying!
-
I usually also have multiple income sources too - but the last couple of weeks has been with one client on PPH.
My client is brilliant and pays my invoices immediately - PPH however, seem to think payment is optional.
I'm sorry to hear you have been waiting since Thursday, Craig - it doesn't look good for the rest of us.
-
It's shocking Megan, I am the same as you, I have been tied up with 1 client for 2 weeks so really need the funds.
If they just let us know what the problem was and what was getting done to resolve it I wouldn't mind as much but its the fact they just ignore everything to do with it and keep us in the dark that gets on my wick

They blocked me from comentimg on fbook years ago and im still blocked to this day, I use PPH because there is a lot of positives but customer service is just about the worst ive ever experienced. They had phone support at the very beginning but they were unable to handle the phone lines so got rid and never replaced them with anything. PPH send you an email to tell you that someone else might be able to help you, then when you ask too many questions they pass you to someone else. Im sure Suresh runs customer service on his own with Kelly his new assistant

I'm getting seriously worried now. I've paused all my Hourlies - not keen to start anything else as I still haven't have any payments since last Thursday now. Does anyone know where the payment processing is done from? It appears to be a Public Holiday in Greece today if that may be relevant, although it still does not explain no processing being done Thurs/Fri last week...
-
Hey Andy, it last happened to me in November. I can understand issues arising and problems that need to be fixed. It is the complete silence that angers me. All it need is a simple tweet/email letting us know what the problem is and when it will be resolved but everyone, including myself, gets angry at the complete wall of silence
-
Yes I had that problem in Nov too, but I think that was different as they appeared to have tried to run the Paypal processing and it just kept looping round. However this time there does not seem to be any evidence that they have tried to run any Paypal processing since Weds last week...

Xenios never replies and very rarely does the actual twitter team reply unless as James says you tweet about how much you love them
