Still waiting to see this ‘ton of research’.....still yet to see one comment In this thread in Favour of the new scheme. The fact they said to wait a little longer to see the benefit clearly they won’t be changing it anytime soon and they think we will all give up

It sounds like we should all boycot this site and move elsewhere if PPH are continuing to ignore the uproar from us loyal sellers, as like myself as a Top Cert, I imagine most have you have been on here for years.... and we are basically being slapped in the face, due to their greed and shortsightedness.

Where is there to go ? Anyone make any suggestions on the best alternatives?  Upwork?

As a seller who mainly deals with one off buyers and with average billing being less than 500 per job i find the new fees troubling. ive had to up my prices and could loose out on potential customers as a result. over all i will be earning less money monthly. i was under assurance that i would be billed 15 % until my first 175 was earned per month unless i failed to earn on a monthly basis and i found this arrangement to be perfect for the amount of work i deal with on a monthly basis. now this has been revoked overnight.

Hi! I’m a top cert for Design and Cartoon and this is also outrageous for me. Please go back to the old scheme. Don’t be like the other freelance sites please.

Sheila unfortunately this is all falling on def, greedy ears. If you scroll up and look at the response they gave me, they clearly don't care about current members at all. Maybe they are relying on new members joining and adopting the fee. I can't wait to find out what their next fee increase will be... maybe they'll go for 50% commission. After all, in the eyes of conmen PPH management, it's apparently better for us! They are a bunch of selfish idiots.

PPH are saying it's 20% but they are taking even more than this - can anyone explain?

£300 job should be £60 they are taking £72.

I will not be working on any large jobs now through PPH, these projects started before the fee changes and I have lost money on them.

PPH, this will not work, your small term gains for a few months will absolutely flat line and I will not be a part of it if it continues like this.

How can there be absolutely no response from CS? If this is all to do with the benefit of the community which ofcourse we know it isn't, not one person has supported it so surely according to their statements they will want to reverse it.

But of course they won't as it's all to do with increasing your profit.

@Social Buzzing - If you're VAT registered you should be able to

@ Social Buzzing - Also, have your stats improved? I was thinking about the shocking drop you had of 81%. I wonder if this means PPH have changed how/what they advertise?

I have billed for over £1300 on here this month - and PPH have helped themselves to £250 of that AND then taken VAT also of over £50 so out of £1300+ I am left with just under £1000 - it is daylight robbery!

Absolutely shocking that my fees have gone up from what would/should be around £75-£80 to almost 1/3 of my earnings FOR WHAT!?!? The service is no better/worse than it was before! The jobs posted are progressively getting lower in value... I have very few clients over £500 and those that are are very reluctant to have to pay fees on top of those prices too.

PPH have had no response to the very people that are paying their wages, they have no intention of reversing the fees, this is a simple MONEY GRAB - to line their pockets/pay tax/fund other ventures. Clients should be aware of their tax status and be warned o be wary of placing money in escrow with them - I will be looking to go elsewhere and will be taking my clients with me - this is pure greed. I am freelance because I want to earn my own money, NOT to line someone elses pockets - I don't mind paying fees where they are warranted and due - but I won't be held hostage when it is MY long hours and skills that are earning the money.

One of the funny loopholes , is to use your balance and sell it for other Buyers at 5% fee instead of 10% , I guess I'm going to start advertising this thing , you want to avoid the 10% deposit fee, Hire me to pay for you at 5% fee, buyer saves 5% , and seller wins back 5% from his earnings -after an eternity- oh and PPH takes 20%.

    VAT:

It depends if you are VAT registered and then what VAT scheme you use.

If you are not VAT registered you cant claim anything.

If you are VAT registered on a Flat rate for example you cant claim anything as VAT is based on a % of sales

If you are using a traditional VAT scheme where you charge buyers VAT and claim back VAT on all vatable expenses then you can claim

Obviously this only applies to sellers in the UK :)

You guys are still lucky because you all are paying 20% since July except a few. But PPH is charging us 20% from May. They beta tested us for 2 more months by charging us 4 times more. I dont have words to describe my emotions. From 200 USD fees to 1000 usd we are paying 20% since May actually. Plus more than 500 USD in promotion cost for hourlie and bids in which hourlies are no longer working anymore.

When we asked the support team re the fees here is what i got

"We have changed our Service fees for our Indian users on the 1st of May 2018. From now on, service fees will be deducted from sellers based on their earnings with each buyer separately. The new fee structure will be based on lifetime billings with each of your Buyers. We encourage you to seek repeat business with your clients and/or to consider modifying the costs you currently propose for new business. We are committed to attracting and helping you connect with Buyers and grow your business. "

That's insane. They obviously got little resistance from Indian freelancers and they decided to roll it out to everyone. They are thieves and won't get away with this

PPH don't seem to be sure of the fees themselves. Looking at their earnings calculator, they have completely skipped the 7.5% bracket lol. "You can't teach stupid"

That's the rate they brought in last year for new freelancers and anyone who ever failed to earn £500 in a month. Presumably they didn't manage to catch enough people with that one and had to have another go at increasing the fees.

Old fee structure was good where I was able to manage my work and earning. But this new fee structure is beneficial only for pph profit. Please revert your fee structure . When sellers would be happy then only PPH people can earn their profits.

I can't believe this actually happened as it's just ridiculous and if it remains will only lead to most good freelancers leaving your platform and so a huge reduction in the quality of service that you can offer.

I have been following this thread since the 20% came in. I feel so let down by PPHour. Im a top cert on here and have also done graphics work for PPHour. In my opinion "THEY DONT CARE" they cant or else they would have provided us with a geniune response. Instead we get open a ticket!! and then it get deleted. NOT the attitude a respectful company should take. I personally have always had good organic results from my website and pphour was just something where work came in..i didnt go looking for it i didnt have to but now...now pphour is drying up and fast. I bet you this company wont be standing in the next 12 months and if it is - it will be a shoddy one at that with no good freelancers putting customers off left, right and center. 20% yeah there gonna get that all the time as people wont return. Im already seeing my steady clients pulling away and dealing with me direct ...get this "OFF THEIR OWN BACKS" as they are loyal to me. Shame PPHour dont adopt the same attitude and respect the fact we work for them and bring in the money. Get this Fee Increase sorted and revert back to what it was. You may PPHour just save the freelancers before we all jump ship for good. (Thanks for listening PPHour ....NOT!)

Yup, this month I have payed a flat 20% in fees.  That's despite being on the platform for 3+ years and billing $40,000 and working with 250+ clients.

My fees have gone from around 7% a month to 20%.  WHAT A JOKE.  Money is already tight, you are making this site unviable.  Still no response from these scumbags.  It really is a disgrace.

I mostly sell small hourlies for £15, I now get £11.40 back on that, it's not worth taking the jobs anymore. Will probably lose Top Cert status as I'll be seeking clients elsewhere unless they change back to the old structure.

Here's your confirmation everybody (screenshot below). This is from the latest response from customer support. They are not changing it back.

You always need to find the positive to a situation, regardless of how severe it has affected you - don't let these scumbags bring you down. My positive from PPH turning their backs on us, is that before recently seeing the true greedy nature of the owners of this site, I was stuck in a comfort zone with all my eggs in the PPH basket - I never considered looking elsewhere. Yes, they are stealing our hard earned money but now I'm signed up to multiple freelancer platforms, whereas just 2 days ago I was limited to one. It may take a while but this time next year we will (we rose through the ranks on here so why can't we do the same again!) be receiving 2, 3, 4x the enquiries since we're no longer stuck in the 'PPH bubble', with much higher quality leads than the spam on here. PPH may be sinking quickly but we don't need to give up and go down with it.

I wish you all good luck!
