All applications are reviewed by our moderation team and there are multiple criteria that must be met in order to join the freelance community on PeoplePerHour.
These criteria include, but are not limited to;
Poor English
PeoplePerHour does not accept applications that are not in English. Please ensure your application is written in the English language with correct grammar and syntax.
Location mismatch
When the location you selected doesn’t match what our system found or if our system detects a VPN being used your application will be declined. This is to ensure buyers are made aware of any potential time zone delays before they begin working with you. It’s important that your location is always up-to-date.
Skills mismatch
It’s important to ensure the skills you have selected match up with the information you have included in your ‘About You’ section and/or in your portfolio (if applicable).
Weak 'About You' section
Your ‘About You’ section must show a good standard of English, provide a clear overview of who you are, and include any relevant experience you have in your specialised area(s).
Sharing contact details
PeoplePerHour does not allow any contact information to be displayed on your profile. This includes your email address, phone number, home address or any other personal details.
Application contains spam content
PeoplePerHour does not allow any content that may be considered as ‘spam content’. This includes any affiliate marketing or advertising material.
Profiles from other freelance marketplaces
PeoplePerHour does not allow the promotion and advertisement of any other freelancer marketplace on your profile.
No portfolio or low quality portfolio
It’s important to include a high quality portfolio if applicable to your skills. This part of the application is critical for freelancers who have design-related skills, where competition is especially high on the platform.
Profile picture not accepted
PeoplePerHour requires you to provide a good quality and genuine profile picture of yourself. This makes your profile appear more personable and welcoming to potential Buyers.
This means that we do not currently accept any illustrations, logos, cartoons or fake pictures of yourself. Please note that this criteria has recently been brought in and therefore, you may still see older profiles on the platform that are of this nature.
Other factors to consider
Sometimes we see that there are many applicants who share the same skills. This means that the amount of freelancers with these skills becomes too high on the platform and surpasses demand from buyers. Because of this, we may have to pause submissions of applications for these skills in order to protect the future work of our existing freelancers.
If you believe that your application was denied because of the above reason, we advise that you reapply in 3 months time and ensure that you strengthen your portfolio before doing so.
