We hope this guide helps you get to grips with what to expect during the application process and provides you with the information you need to start your freelance journey on the platform.
Let’s get started:
Step 1: Verify your email
After you’ve entered your contact details, PeoplePerHour will send you an email to verify your email address. You won’t be able to start the application form until this step is completed so it’s important that you do so to proceed to the next step.
Step 2: The Application Form
Once your email is verified, you’ll be asked to fill out a quick application form and to complete the following details:
- Profile picture
It’s important that during this step you upload a good quality and genuine profile picture of yourself*. We currently don’t accept images that are illustrations, logos, cartoons, or fake pictures of yourself.
We find that making your profile more personable welcomes potential Buyers to your profile and helps form professional relationships.
*Please note that the max image size that can be uploaded is 5MB and 4200x2500 pixels.
- Job title
Think about what best describes your role and the work that you do with clients - the clearer you are in this stage, the easier it will be for the moderation team to process your application.
Where are you based from? It’s important that your location is up to date and accurate. If our system finds a mismatch in your location, you risk your application being rejected.
- Top skills
It’s important to include the most relevant skills that portray you as a freelancer. What are you great at doing? What skills do you have that you feel represent you the best in your role?
- About you
It's really important to provide as much information as you can in this section. This is so we can really get to know you as a person whilst understanding your professional background and any relevant skills you have.
What makes you great at what you do and how do you stand out from other freelancers in the same industry?
How long have you worked in the industry for and when did you start your freelance journey? What’s your passion?
What’s your primary language? Or if you speak more than one, include this in this section and show off your skills!
Step 3: Submit your application!
You’ll have the option to submit your form by either having it Fast-Tracked (reviewed in 1 working day) at an additional cost or going through the normal review process (reviewed within 7 working days) free of charge.
After you’ve chosen your preferred option and you’re happy with all the information you’ve provided, your application can be submitted! You’ll get an email confirming this immediately after.
The moderation team will then get to work and review your application within the time period you’ve opted for. Once an outcome has been reached, you’ll then be notified via email of the decision.
And that’s it! As easy as that.
